To Supper or not to supper that is the question

Is a ending supper op onal or a requirement pinions vary widely on this. Some fol are staunch supporters and du ful a endees whilst others simply don t entertain the idea and give it a miss. There are some who sit in the middle, feel a certain duty, understand the expecta on, but don t go and feel bad about it. So what does supper a er the game mean to you And do you a end or not Whilst it s pre y much out there why people a end: an opportunity to be social and to start the come down a er a good night of sport, there s also a strong element of tradi on in there too: it s something that s always happened - that DV A is a friendly club and that supper is one expression of that. The reasons why people don t a end supper seems somehow less acceptable or openly stated. There are as many reasons not to a end as there are to a end. It is a late night already and I have wor in the morning. I live a long way away. I am ust not feeling up to it tonight. If I come I will eat the chocolates and will feel bad tomorrow. These are but a few. Does not a ending supper have to necessarily translate into some form of slight against those who do, or even more sinister than that I don t believe it does. Can we all exercise choice, and feel K about it, whatever that choice is Do I need to feel guilty about not a ending and snea o when no one is loo ing. In a spirit of openness, we d li e to nd out what people really thin , what mo vates each of us. Is it possible for DV A to accommodate diering views and ac ons: a truly respec ul and inclusive a tude to all members, no ma er what their choices. Perhaps reconguring supper, if that s what s needed, to preserve what is an important tradi on that some hold very dear, and, at the same me, let those who don t want to oin in feel completely K with that. Junior Presentation Ball

The Junior Presentation Ball was a huge success. All the juniors looked amazing and their showcase dancing was spot on and met with resounding applause. The Mayor was the guest of honour and was very impressed by the juniors of the Diamond Valley Badminton Association. It even generated a small profit that will be fed back into the junior program.

Sausage Sizzle
The DVBA sausage sizzle at Mitre 10 Diamond Creek was a smoking success on Sunday 29th April. The juniors, family and friends turned up to run a sausage sizzle. It was a sensational day where just over 200 sausages were dished up to hungry people. It was interesting to chat with them and find out how many had actually played badminton with the club previously. A number of players also dropped by to support the club.
