PREFACE
This Standard was prepared by the Joint Standards Australia/Standards New Zealand
Committee ME/4, Lift Installations, to supersede AS 1735.7 — 1987.
This Standard is the result of consensus among Australian and New Zealand
representatives on the Joint Committee to produce it as an Australian Standard.
The objective of this Standard is to provide requirements for power-operated stairway lifts
intended for use by persons with limited mobility.
This Standard is one of a series of Standards covering lifting devices which are able to
assist persons with limited mobility; other Standards in the series are as follows:
