Sentences and Syntax: the works behind English Literature and its Roots on Computer Programming By Enrique A. Segura Carrillo

Sit, and pause, and think and write. And what looks in front are letters; Letters that are pigments of imagination. Now, there is more than that; especially when one has to talk more than lines. A feeling more than spirit, within the rubble of countless words, that never comes out clear. For it is excruciating to come up with the right words. Even due those words are simple and right, make a sentence (of four words) is simply impossible to pronounce. Thats the challenge of our erato define what truly is an idea or a thoughtand its implications and roots take us deep within the history of the way we express. There is acknowledgement of the power of wordsand more importantly, the power of sentences. The magic behind Shakespeare lies on deep use of syntax and understanding of how the language behaves and works. Moreover, it depicts and exercises a thought manner of logic and clear thoughts. And, at the end, it is compacted in a unit of thought that sends a defined, finite, cohesive idea to the reader. It is on this last bit that we appreciate the main theme perception is realityand how it defines literature at its best. Sentences reveal the thinking process, eloquence, and sophistication of the author. It reveals a level of vision of what not only is perceivedbut what can be achieved. From the annals of comedy, to the tragedies (and the essays, short stories and novels in between), syntax and grammar structure have left a tremendous impact on English Literature. In this manuscript there will be a clinical attempt on how to approach Joyce in a way that reveals the power of the underlying foundations of English. In doing so, genius, by all means, is discovered.

The very idea of a thought is extremely powerful, and yet, elusive. For understanding the diversity of thought and eloquence found in Joyce, or the compressed, dense writing of Tolkien, we have to understand the process of what an idea is truly like. Hence, we have to delve in the works of the brain. In the book Incognito, David Eagleman makes a valid argument to express the idea of the true works of the brain, at its very core, are automatic in nature. What this means is a foundation of the subconscious level of existence. We can find this recurrent idea of Freudian theory in which we see the super ego. This is seen in literature, as it is depicted in Joyce very clearlyas the sentence structure differs constantly from narrative, third person view, to an omniscient state of mental stasis. In James Joyce Quaterly, K.E.Robinson makes it clear by mentioning there would seem to be no real distinction between the localstructuralwhereas the normal reading of the Portrait isupon chronological time In a pit, that sentences shows why the majority of readersamong them yours trulyhas a hassle understanding the meaning behind Portrait. This is because of the stream of logic that is unseeing by the reader. Why?for the idea that logic by itself is undercover on the sentence structure. For instance, take this sentence from Portrait, The door opened quietly and closed. Without context the sentence by itself reveals very littleand it is a sentence that can be salvaged and recognized as pristine. However, when in context, it is in consort to reveal the powerful potential that it represents. That is, Stephen is aware of the door opening. However, that also leads to the idea he was unable to not only look directly, but also to the prefect. In it, it reveals a plethora of emotions and perspectives. Moreover, there is a need to define the idea of what is truly a thought or an ideaand paramount, the idea of what truly is stream of consciousness. First, we have to address, it clearly. In his book, A New Approach to Joyce: The Portrait of the Artist as a Guidebook, Robert S. Rfy

argues for the definition of the stream of consciousness as the junction the real perception of reality, and the conveyance of Stephens. Hence, in explaining the power of sentences, one has to understand the logic behind the cloud consciousness is. In doing so, I will recreate a stream of thought as it is conducted on the literary work. And of course, it is a crude approach that results from this recreation I was fooled by my own, ironically, logic. As a nave individual, I believe there is trust to be placed on people and in ideas. An idea is vast and great and yet petite if there is no conviction people will pull it off. And yet, there is a necessity to have people with driven ideals. Nevertheless, we are dealing with humans; thus, people that are inherently irrational and unpredictable. I placed trust in individuals of upmost trust, because I saw my logic as a clear instrument of measuring results. Trust, as nice as it is, in an individual creates a serve flaw to the very fabric of logic. Hence, one cannot hope on trust as strength of a logic exercise. Moreover, there is a logic exercise to be explored. How the details work themselves out? How one sees the whole picture when all the facts are distorted, but presented? How? Of course, the answer is logic. However, what is the feeling when the picture is just and shows the individual itself in a situation that is not only ludicrous, but humiliating. There is no greater pain than to be outsmarted. Voila! Let the film of brainstorming ensues In attempting to define logic one has to deal with the esoteric of semantics. That is, what truly is the real idea of a thought (or vice versa)? In his article, The Language of Thought: No Syntax Without Semantics, by Tim Crane, argues for the intentional stateof being related to a sentence in a mental language. This idea is key not only literature but sciencefor more

information, please look for Ada Lovelace and her programming algorithm, which branches from this principle. This gives an idea to what he presents as The Language of Thought (LT). LT is crucial to understand Joyce. There is no real expression of the stream we are seeing in his work that if it is not by the sole idea of what a thought actually is. Thus, there is a necessity to address the thought as a web of ideas. Hence, evocating information theory, an idea becomes the cornerstone of the English language of expression by being the most fundamental structure of information. Or in short, as computer scientist call it, an information packet. If taken an idea as the sole conception of what is known in the virtual world as a byte the subatomic particle of computer sciencethen we can understand how both computer science has roots on literature. At its best it shows how analytical structures are derived from structural cohesion found on sentences and grammar and language. A quintessential example lies on the plethora of languages on Earth and their counterpart variety of programming languages. The idea behind algorithms and engines of processes lies deep on the concoctions in which we arrange ideas. Hence, for the purpose of this work, let it be defined a thought as an interconnection of ideas carrying the same unifying theme. Thus, let the idea become the most basic unit of expression of meaning in process and action of a work. In Joyce we appreciate the meaning of this at the expression of his thoughts, and depictions of his world. Stephen represents the link between the thoughts that stream without a clear north. James Joyce makes it extremely visual how actually a mind works. It makes it blurry, uneven, asymmetrical, and highly irrational. Primarily, one has to look for the inner clue that leads to intelligence: chain of thought. If one manages, as Joyce explores in his chain of thoughts, to capture the very logical fabric of a brain, then you becomeregardless intelligencepredictable. That is a problem of dimensions beyond grasp and measure.

Calculating solutions is quite important. Like John von Neumann said, "If people do not believe that mathematics is simple, it is only because they do not realize how complicated life is. We do mathematics of peoplecalculating outcomes and predicts. In many ways, if the individual is quirky and clever enough, one can predict future situations. To be fair, it will never be accurate, but still will give a blueprinta forecastof what is too come. In my case, calculating solutions was silently silenced. Without the ability to test odds, and very observant, logic cannot work as it should. You see, the underlying of human though lies on a film of accurate information. Without accurate data, it is impossible to expect any resultless to get the objective result. Hence, we assess the logical mechanic of objectivity. Biased solutions tend to be subjective, and too much extend, very dangerous. Impulsivity creates illogical solutions, and clear illusion. This fantasy of pure logic is hard to keep. To be fair and honest, it is to fail to see the obvious. Hence, there is an inherent beauty in the film of logic. There is beauty in simplicity. Beauty is truth and truth is beauty. So the truth is that there is a fool who is fooled, and yet there is unawareness of the fool. Here, an illogical comparison that shows much to be learned from logic itself. It is the idea of the contradiction that leads to true stage of perfect logic. In it, it has the foundations of sound connectionsand the pillars of argumentation and debate. In it, the film of logic, there is the potent conveyor of the permutations of message. That is exemplified as the language is at the very most explicit: the consort of ideas in a connected package of information delimited by connotations and inferences. Hence, the mind, the structure of programming at its core, develops a wonderful thingand a terrible to waste. No clich; just fact. Yet, a mind is also intriguing. Only our brightest can guest how much brainpower we use. And that figure is small. However, with that figure we survive every day.

How can we feel? How can we think? The questions are boundlessand the answers meaningless. That is, we cannot explain it without getting into educated guesses. So, what is the most appropriated way to explain those basicand yet complexfunctions. By transforming the brain into a machine, I think, is the best way to explain the phenomena minds are. So, lets get to the chase. The example below shows a stream again, that depicts vivid emotionsbecause of the search engine juxtapositions allows connections in the subconscious. I was intrigued by this subject one afternoon. I was playing tennis. I had a year off it. Hence, I was rusty. So, I was falling behind, tired, and frustrated. My friend, Gio, was in its usual shape. He is a constant player. In short: I was losing big time. In that momentwhen I realized I was losingI tried to think of ways to improve. I tried to see the serves, the hitseverything. However, I was still losing. And that is not a nice thing. As I realized, I felt anger, rage, and a desire to beat the circumstance. That was when something awkward happened. I wanted to perfect everything. I usually like to see life as a bunch of numberswhich make occasions straightforward; almost all the timethat makes solutions clearer. Awkwardly, that sounds like a machine. Ironically, I tried to think like a machine. My mind trigs itself when I need. Usually that happens on exams, in math problems, on chess, and (right now) on writing. Although it is a trig, it was not as deep as that one in that match. I was really worried in beating the odds. I wanted to start the transition. And so, the transition began. In a picosecondI guesswith an idea, I began to think like a robot. It was hard to do it, at first. The idea of being a robot is to kill humanity in the body. Yet, it was something I evadedby distracting myself with the game; which was steady. So, as

passed the phase, I began to think in terms of ordinate. That is, to say calibrate next serve at 55% effectiveness, or recalculate fire solutions and so forth. It looks like I was commanding my brain to do calibrationsto fix mistakes. Reality it is a robot At its best, or worst, reality represented in writing, through logic exercise, inquiry and juxtaposition of words, expresses the deep works of the mind that Ada constructed with Aristotelian logic and perception. That is the result of algorithms. Thus, expressing an argument to the connection and importance of literature in programming, art, expression, and the underlying definition of what define human expression and thoughts. That is, the power of syntax and grammar revealed as key in abstracts and tangibles. And in doing so, it has sparked the mental revolution that built our world today.
