INTERNAL / EXTERNAL JOB POSTING Kitsilano Neighbourhood House Part-Time Community Programmer

The Part-Time Community Programmer will be the key support for tenants living in the new 30-unit affordable housing complex for low-income seniors and individuals with spinal cord injuries located at 8th and Vine Street. This position will work collaboratively with tenants, community and the Seniors for Seniors Resource Centre to develop and implement programs that support healthy aging, social connection, and provide opportunities for community building and leadership development. She / He will promote the integration of the Resource Centre and Housing Complex to create a safe and welcoming environment for all tenants and older adults living on the Westside. Duties and Responsibilities: Systems and Administration Manage the tenant move-in / move-out process Liaise with Sanford Property Management on non-emergency tenant issues and building repairs Maintain tenant database, and create a waitlist system Monitor expenditures and petty cash Maintain detailed statistics, and assist with reporting Complete Housing Registry Training Communications Create a Communication Plan and promotional materials in collaboration with the Resource Centre Maintain and update Tenant Welcome Package, including tenant handbook, bylaws, etc. Provide Information and Referral support Assist with the coordination of an Open House Event Community Development Support tenants to identify their needs and engage in decision-making processes Develop programming that supports the integration of the Resource Centre and the Housing Project Develop a Tenant Advisory Committee to develop social and wellness programs, and a Roof-Top Garden Develop a Logic Model and Monitoring Framework for the project Monitor outcomes of the project by conducting annual evaluations Liaise and collaborate with project partners, and community service providers Build, develop and maintain effective relationships with all stakeholders Create a warm, welcoming and inclusive environment Actively participate and support house wide special events Collaborate with staff and volunteers as part of a larger community support team Provide support and supervision to volunteers Participate in Kits House special events

Qualifications: Post Secondary degree in a relevant field or suitable combination of education and experience Experience working with seniors and/or adults with disabilities Knowledge of seniors issues and how to promote healthy aging Familiar with BC Housing, Human Rights Code and the Residential Tenancy Act, or willingness to learn Knowledge & commitment to the Neighbourhood House Model of service delivery Demonstrated knowledge of community development principles of program planning, capacity building, and working with committees Strong organizational skills with attention to detail, follow through and handle multiple priorities Experience and appreciation for diversity Excellent communication skills both verbal & written Excellent negotiation and conflict resolution skills Ability to work independently and in a team environment Ability to work collaboratively in a non-profit, volunteer based organization Ability to work flexible hours and participate in KNH special events Creativity, enthusiasm, flexibility and a good sense of humor Experience supervising and supporting volunteers Strong computer skills in word processing, data management, Internet and presentation software Knowledge of logic models an asset Second language an asset Criminal record check required

Job Details: Salary: $17.50 - $18.47 / hour Schedule: 14 hours weekly, schedule to be determined.
