enTry reqUIremenTs
students are required to have one of the following: Bachelors degree Diploma with 5 years of relevant working experience A levels (or the equivalent qualifications) with 3 years relevant working experience and be over 35 years old students are also required to be competent in english. exceptions can be given to those whose medium of study at entry level is english. otherwise students require one of the following: Test of English as Foreign Language (TOEFL) with a score of 550 International English Language Testing System (IELTS) level 6

INCEIF, The Global University of Islamic Finance, was set up by Bank Negara Malaysia (Central Bank of Malaysia). It is the only university in the world that is wholly dedicated to postgraduate study in Islamic finance. The Chartered Islamic Finance Professional (CIFP) programme is the most globally recognised entry qualification for the Islamic finance industry. To date the programme has attracted students from different backgrounds, different faiths and from over 70 different countries. The programme is aimed at producing high calibre professionals with the necessary technical skills and knowledge in Islamic finance, specifically in the areas of Islamic banking and takaful. The programme delivers a holistic and comprehensive syllabus specifically driven by the industry. It combines both practical and theoretical aspects of Islamic finance, resulting in a holistic learning experience of exceptional quality. The CIFP programme is fully accredited by the malaysian qualifications Agency (MQA) and is an equivalent to a Masters degree.

Applications for CIFP are accepted all year round. Programme intake occurs each January, June and september. PART I: BUILDING KNOWLEDGE This section covers everything from theory to wealth planning and management. Part I Papers: Shariah Aspects of Business & Finance, SH 1002 Shariah Rules in Financial Transactions, SH 1003 Islamic economics, Ie 1001 Islamic Capital Market, IB 1006 Wealth Planning & management, TK 1003 reporting of Islamic Financial Transactions, Ie 1002 Deposit & Financing Operations of Islamic Banks, IB 1005 Islamic Financial Institutions & Markets, IB 1004 PART II: BUILDING SKILLS This section equips students with the required skills in handling operational issues and Islamic financial transactions such as structuring corporate financing and issuing Islamic securities. Part II Papers: Shariah Issues in Islamic Finance SH 2002 Structuring Financial Requirements IB 2001 Risk Management of Islamic Financial Institutions IB 2002 Managing Islamic Financial Institutions IB 2003 ethics & governance Ie 2001 Takaful & Actuarial Practices TK 2002 PART III: BUILDING COMPETENCY & EXPERIENCE The final part is a 6-month articleship programme that provides students with practical experience in the Islamic financial services industry. Malaysian based study; INCEIF will arrange a locally based articleship. If students have a preferred institution, that institution must be preapproved by InCeIF. International based study; students must arrange their own articleship. Upon request, InCeIF will provide a supporting letter to be addressed to the preferred institutions. Working students; students who are already working in a field related to the Islamic financial sector may convert a further six month period of employment to an articleship, provided prior arrangements are made with InCeIF. Exemption; students with sufficient finance related experience are exempted. students based in countries where there is no Islamic financial services industry are also exempted.

The InCeIF campus is close to the city centre of Kuala lumpur, malaysia; one of the most vibrant Islamic financial markets in the world. The industry is supported by various government initiatives to further strengthen the countrys position as an international Islamic financial centre. On campus study has two advantages to online distance learning: Networking and shared experiences: In addition to attending regular classes and tutorials, students interact with industry experts during regular industry talks. At these talks, established industry figures share their practical experiences and knowledge. see Islamic finance firsthand: study visits are organised to financial institutions, Bank Negara Malaysia, the Securities Commission, Islamic Financial Services Board, Bursa Malaysia (Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange) and other institutions where some form of Islamic finance is practised. on Campus Full-time study - Part I & II The CIFP full-time programme is designed for those who want to fast-track their professional qualification in Islamic finance. Full-time students can complete Part I and Part II in 12-months. There are 42 hours of contact classes per paper over 14 weeks. Full-time students are required to attend 80% of their classes.

The CIFP is also made available through online distance learning. students are provided hardcopy manuals and softcopy materials at the start of each semester. self-study is supported by the faculty through e-learning forums in the InCeIF learning management system.

online Distance learning Part I & II Students who take the full number of papers each semester will complete Part I & II in 12 months, which is the same time as an on campus full-time student. All 14 papers for Parts I & II must be completed within 6 years. online students can sit for examinations in malaysia and in almost any country in the world. If students decide to sit for an examination outside malaysia, InCeIF will send or appoint an invigilator for the exam.

The lms provides a conduit for communication with faculty members and university administration. It is also a portal for assignment submission and it houses all course manuals and articles.
