Description:

Regence BCBS is maintenance and enhancement module. It is a healthcare project. In this project my role is in the Membership. It consists of both Online and Batch processing. Online screens developed in CICS were used to enter/view membership details. The membership information was stored on VSAM files and COBOL, JCL was used to process the membership(CMS) details in Batch environment. The CMS performs several general functions for Regence. These functions include: 1. CMS - It maintains group eligibility data 2. MIP - It maintains Individual eligibility data 3. Co-ordination with CPS (Claim Processing System) also.

Roles and Responsibilities: As a Software Tester and Quality Analyst I held the following responsibilities: Understanding the low-level design document. Preparing unit test cases and preparing test data. Unit testing of Batch jobs and online maps. Attending weekly status meetings.

As a production Supporter and Test Co-ordinator I held the following responsibilities: Co-ordinate the Production and Test cycle & handle the abends. Support the job cycles and resolve the abends to make sure all the jobs went fine.

Client focus/partnership: I have built credibility and gained trust from the client by delivering good quality work. I have received decent and satisfactory support and coordination back from the client. Moreover, I have maintained this relationship with clients to gain their continuous support, involvement and contribution. I have got appreciation in many SR's for delivering the system test results in time from the Business.

Teamwork & Collaboration: In the REGENCE project, I have worked closely with other Team members. I always asked other team members if I could help finish any tasks when I had finished my own work. When I was not sure about the solution, I asked the opinion from the team and shared my opinions with the team when needed. I presented my lessons learnt and my experience to the team and encouraged them to exchange what they have learnt from the project so that we can avoid the same mistakes and the whole team can improve together. During this phase, I was also able to demonstrate my leadership skills. With limited resources and time, there were lot of pressures from the client and other teams, we have helped and supported each other to withstand the pressure and get through the difficulties together.

Professional Effectiveness: I have consistently completed the clocking to REGENCE project punctually and correctly according to IBM policy. In doing so, I have helped generate revenue to GBS, and therefore IBM in my home country. I have also been submitting expense forms on the first day of claimable month, which helps speed up the process of handling billings and collections. I have actively participated in team meetings while working on the REGENCE project. I have demonstrated my ability in fast learning and enthusiasm in searching for knowledge by myself in order to get more understanding about the design and be able to provide good consulting and answer the clients questions. As I did not get involved in collecting the user requirement at the beginning phase of the project, I have had to make a special effort to fully understand the design and then use it to solve the problems effectively. In this phase, I have learnt a lot about Health Care Business System and also I have completed the AHM 250 certification. I have successfully completed the DB2 Fundamental certification. Besides knowledge about Healthcare, I have also gained knowledge on project management during his phase. I always seek suggestions and help from the senior consultants in IBM to handle difficulties in the project, for example, I asked for advice from sravan who was a test consultant during System testing for how to create claims and process claims to completion of System testing. About Client: SUPERVALU is third largest food retailing company in the United States, with 2,505 food and food/drug combination stores and annual sales of approximately $38 billion. This project is containing the core supply chain business functionalities for the Supervalu which includes the complete cycle of day to day business. It includes the applications Data Exchange, Retail Pricing, Orderwell, Buying and Division Accounting.

Roles and Responsibilities:

As a Quality Analyst I held the following responsibilities: Co-ordination with Onsite BA for Requirements gathering. Preparing unit test cases and preparing test data.

Unit testing of Batch jobs and online maps. Attending weekly status meetings.

Responsibly for Functional, Regression, UAT testing for my project. Executing SIT and UAT test cases Analyzing the code defects and tracking them. Logging Variances / defects. Logging Change Control Requests. Carrying out root cause analysis of the bugs identified. Work assignment and Monitoring of the status. Offshore Point Of contact for the team to the BA at onshore. Setting up of tasks for team members in client side timesheet and in IPMS. Maintaining IQAs, FIs, Defect logs as part of TCS processes. Weekly Status reporting to key stake holders at onshore/offshore/ client. Documenting all implemented solution & best practices.
