VO: 25 years of catering to the artistic cry of our fellow student artists. 25 years of pursuing a conceptualized inter-school dance competition to nurture dance groups for the legitimate stage. 25 years of dancelebrating the gift of dance. Ladies and gentlemen, the longest running inter-school dance competition in Metro Manila has reached its Silver Year! Everyone, welcome to the Silver Dancelebration! Opening Number Enter Hosts H1: Good afternoon everyone! I am Host 1! H2: And I am Host 2! H1: As expected, because this is the big two-five of Danceleb! H2: Yup, which means this year will be extra special for everyone! H1: You know H2, I cant help but feel happy. Danceleb has come so far: from the La Salle Dance Troupe, to the La Salle Dance Company-Jazz to the La Salle Dance Company-Contemporary. H2: This year, we have 22 participating entries from 18 schools and universities, all vying for the Roving Cup! Do you know what the "Roving Cup" is, Host 1? H1: Of course! Who doesnt? The Roving Cup is given to the winning group but they can only take it home permanently if they win the championship 3 times in a row. H2: And that has only been achieved 3 times! Can you believe it, everyone? H1: Yes, so lets give an applause to the only 3 who managed to win the Roving Cup so far: UP Filipiniana Dance Group, Company of Ateneo Dancers-Jazz, and Saint Benilde Romancion Dance Company!! H2: They must have been so awesome to watch. Hey H1, can you guess the theme of this years Danceleb? H1: I cant. But Im sure its even better than last years! H2: Oh it is! The theme of this year is..."Athletes of God"! H1: Athletes of God? What do you think that means? H2: Athletes of God is the term coined by Albert Einstein, referring to dancers, who are the competitors. This year focuses on anything and everything about dancers themselves: their stories, their training, their passion, their coach, their very lives! H1: But not only that, this Danceleb also brings to light the dancers way of thinking and how they view the world.

H2: Pretty amazing, huh? H1: Thats making me excited! Before we begin though, why dont we hear from our teams today? H2: Okay, lets hear it from the sizzlin Colegio San Agustins CSA Dance Troupe! H1: Lets not forget the ever-lively Xavier School Dance X! H2: Show some love for the Ateneo High Schools IndAK! H1: Give it up for the scorchin School of Saint Anthonys DANSSA! H2: And last but not the least, show us what you got for the La Salle Greenhills Airforce! H1: Oh yeah everyones shooting through the roof now! So shall we begin, H2? H2: Yes we shall, H1. HS TEAM 3: DANSSA Exit SL Enter Hosts H1: Another wonderful dance from another wonderful group! H2: I swear, the judges are going to have headaches trying to choose the best among these performances! H1: Speaking of judges, I think its time to inform our audience of the criteria for judging. H2: Right you are, Host 1! We cant keep the audience in the dark about how the judges decide the winners! H1: Okay, so all the groups will be judged based on five criteria. Each of these criteria has a certain percent of the score attached to it, which in total equals 100%. H2: Choreography and composition count for 25%; H1: Execution is worth another 25%; H2: Concept interpretation is also worth 25%; H1: Effective use of props and costume count for 15%; H2: And overall impact is 10%; all of this summing up to 100%. H1: I hope everyone understands the criteria now! H2: Before we proceed, let us take a moment to thank our sponsors. Without them, this event would not have been possible.

25

H1: But not only that, this Danceleb also brings to light the dancers way of thinking and how they view the world. H2: Pretty amazing, huh? H1: Thats making me excited! H2: But before we start off our dance celebration, lets familiarize the audience with how the competition works. H1: The college division of this celebration is divided into two categories: Street dancing and Contemporary. We all know these two distinct genres of dance have their own way of liberating the creative talents within our competitors. H2: Indeed. Tonight, we will witness them blow our minds out of proportion with their artistic manners of motion. Of course, great prizes are in store as our 13 Street dance groups and 4 contemporary dance groups vie for the championship in their respective categories. H1: Our champions will get to take home several goodies like 8 pairs of Havaianas, Nissin Yakisoba Cup Noodles, Coffee Twist, a Bag of Dynamite candies, and One One boxes! And of course a trophy, a certificate, and the ever-prestigious Roving Cup, which has been passed through the 24 champions of the annual Dancelebration! H2: What a great honour to get hold of that Roving Cup! Tonight will definitely be a tough battle between the schools! But before we start, may I first say that tonights show would not have been made possible without the help of our sponsors: H1: Havaianas H2: IMAX Productions H1: John Robert Powers
