Working with missionary zeal, relentless commitment and strong financial backing, Dr.Prasad, along with his friends, planned and completed a $6 million Venkateswara Temple in Greater Chicago, and this modern temple of higher education Anil Neerukonda Institute of Technology & Sciences (ANITS) in Visakhapatnam in the year 2001. 3 Dept of Computer Science & Engineering: The Department has marked a steady growth in terms of human recourses, Laboratories and space. It has 28 qualified teachers (Meeting the norms of AICTE) headed by Dr. Suresh Chandra Satapathy with 24 years of experience in teaching inclusive 5 years of research experience. The department has Three Computer Laboratories in which a total of 147 Personal Computers are connected on LAN's. There is a Microprocessor Laboratory, where the equipment like p Trainers, Breadboard Trainers, Interfacing Modules etc are available to cater to needs of the curriculum in developing skills at low level programming and at Hardware Circuit design implementation and testing. The total value of the equipment in all these laboratories is Rs. 55.30 Lakhs. Dept of Electronics & Communication Engineering: The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering is headed by Dr.Ramesh Challagundla who has obtained Ph.D. in engineering in the area of Electro Magnetic Interference and Compatibility from Andhra University. Prof.Ramesh Challagundla had an experience of 23 years in teaching and 6 years in research. He has been serving the department since its inception and is responsible for establishing all the Labs, and are being known as excellent labs. The Department has well equipped labs with excellent infrastructure. Various labs in the Department are DSP/VHDL Lab, Digital ICs Lab, Microprocessors and Applications Lab, Communication Lab, Electronic Devices and Circuits Lab, Microwave and Antennas lab and project lab. Project lab consisting of 24 PCs connected in LAN is dedicated for carrying out the final year projects and for enhancing research activity, also R &D lab and M.Tech Communication Engineering lab. All the faculty members are easily accessible to the students for counseling and guidance on academic matters. The students are encouraged to take active part in cultural programmes, technical student events, seminars, workshops and sports. As a result the students are faring well in university examinations and campus interviews. The faculty members are actively involved in research and are publishing papers in various National and International Conferences/Journals. During the academic year 2010-11 106 out of 123 students were placed in reputed organizations like Infosys, Syntel, Efftronics, Convergys, Persistent and HCL etc Dept of Electrical & Electronics Engineering: The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE) was started in the year 2001-02 with an intake of 40 students and later increased to 60 and 120 in the years 2002-03 & 2009-10 respectively. The department was accredited by NBA for 3 years in July 2008. It has spacious laboratories viz. Networks and Measurements, Electrical Machines, Power Electronics, Control Systems, Digital Electronics & Micro Processors and Power System Simulation, fulfilling the norms of both Andhra University and AICTE. The Department has a separate Computer Center with 20 systems to cater to the needs of EEE students. It also has a separate departmental Library for the students of EEE for ready reference. It has 16 qualified and dedicated faculty and is headed by Prof. G. Raja Rao, with more than 20 years of experience in teaching and industry. So far Six batches have left the portals of this college and our alumni have settled in various reputed organizations like BHEL, RINL, BHPV, BARC, MES, L&T, various State Electricity Companies in India and abroad. Recently P.G course with CONTROL

4 SYSTEMS as specialization has started in 2010-2011 with intake of 18 members. Dept of Mechanical Engineering: The Mechanical Engineering branch was started in the academic year 2005-06 with an intake of 60 students. Intake has been increased to 120 in the academic year 2009-10. In this evergreen branch of engineering, Workshop, Strength of Material lab, Thermal Engineering lab, Industrial engineering lab, Metrology lab, Fluid Mechanics lab, CAD/CAM Lab and Heat transfer lab were established with best facilities available. The department is also equipped with 3 drawing halls, departmental library and seminar hall. At present the department consists of 24 highly qualified faculty members with good teaching / industrial experience, headed by Prof.T.V.Hanumantha Rao.

Dept of Information Technology & Master of Computer Applications: The IT department was started in the year 2001 with an intake of sixty into B.Tech (I.T) programme. At present it has 13 qualified teachers (as per the norms of AICTE) headed by Prof Ch. Suresh with more than 13 years of experience in Teaching and Industry. The department is well equipped with 80 latest P4 Computers connected in Wireless LAN with uninterrupted power supply. 35 computers with P4 Processors and with latest technologies are connected to the IBM Server in our Project Lab. It also has a Micro Processor Laboratory with latest equipment and interfacing modules to conduct experiments in hardware. The students of department are encouraged to use the Digital Library and to attend seminars, paper presentations and Work Shops. The IT department has shown its great impression in results at the University examinations, as it stood 1st among all the affiliated colleges of AU. The Dept of MCA is merged with the Dept of IT w.e.f Dec 2012. MCA First batch was started in the month of July 2006 with intake of 60 students into P.G Program. The department has marked a steady growth in terms of human recourses, Laboratories. It has 8 qualified teachers and headed by Prof Ch Suresh. It has two computer laboratories with 30 systems in each lab. It has a computer organization laboratory with equipment like microprocessors and bread boards to conduct experiments in hardware. It also has Data Communication Lab to conduct experiments like pc to pc communication using modem, switches and 4-line exchange using different types of topologies. Dept of Bio-Technology: The Department of Biotechnology started at ANITS during the academic year 2002-2003 and headed by Dr V Sridevi, who had more than 22 years of experience. With an annual take of 30 students, department achieves more than 90% of pass percentage. Students selected for Summer Research Fellowship Programme, Sponsored by IASc , Bangalore Students selected for Second Science Conclave: A congregation of Nobel Laureates Indian Institute of Information Technology, Allahabad.

5 Students pursuing higher education in reputed universities in India and abroad ANITS Biotech society namely BLAZE is conducting national level symposiums, workshops and guest lectures regularly. The department of Biotechnology , ANITS has joined as institutional member of Biotech Research Society of India (BRSI) with effect 10th December 2010 for a period of ten years Dept of English: The Department of English & Humanities is headed by Ms. Rupa Vemuri, a dynamic leader with abundant enthusiasm and vigour, who has more than 14 years of experience in teaching and 11 years experience in the Directorate of Higher Education, NCT, New Delhi. The faculty members are actively involved in research and publication of papers. At present the department has four M.Phil Degree holders and three are registered for Ph.D. The department has three well-equipped and spacious labs namely, Language Hub, Centre for Communication Skills-I and Centre for Communication Skills-II with the latest technology and infrastructure. The department is also closely involved in conducting the INFOSYS Campus Connect Soft Skills Programme. Apart from handling the regular curriculum prescribed by Andhra University, the department is actively involved in conducting the Hindu E-plus club activities. Logistics-Campus Recruitment: The College provides facilities like A/c Seminar Hall (400 occupancy), AC Conference Hall, Large Exam Halls (upto 600 capacity at one go), A/c Interview, Rooms for Group Discussions, LCD Projectors, Public Address System etc. to the campus recruitment team for the smooth conduct of campus-recruitment. Internet Facility: ANITS has excellent computational and support facilities in the form of a campus-wide Local Area Network and departmental computer centres with a number of licensed and specialized software packages to meet their specific requirements. It has a 4 Mbps wireless Internet Connectivity and 10.24 Mbps cable Internet connectivity provided by BSNL. With present student strength of 2100 and with 635 systems, the computer-to-student ratio works out to approximately 1:3. Wi-Fi Enabled Internet Access to all Departments Location: The college is located in a plot of 12 acres area in Sangivalasa Village of Bheemunipatnam Mandalam and is approximately 300 meters from the Chennai Kolkatta Highway. The institute is 27 Kms. from Visakhapatnam city and is within 30 minutes drive.
