Child abuse: Child abuse can be defined as as the physical, sexual, emotional mistreatment or neglect of children.

According to the NSPCC Nearly 32,000 children in the UK

are known to be at risk of abuse right now.

Charities who help and support children who face abuse or have been through abuse are Childline, THE NSPCC, and Barnardos. Child abuse mostly occurs at home, but it can often be found in schools too, and there are four types of child abuse, and i'll just go over these: The first type is neglect: Neglect is when the parents or guardian of a child fails to provide the child with basic needs such as food, hygiene, clothing, loving care. It also constitutes failure to seek medical attention when it is needed and failiure to provide the child with educational needs when necessary. You can tell if a child has been neglected if they lack hygiene, are nearly always hungry, always feeling tired, don't interract with others, etc. Physical abuse is another form of child abuse: Agression from an adult towards a child is physical abuse, but there has been a lot of deabte on what is considered to be abuse and what is child discipline. It is clear that any abuse which leads to serious injury or death of a child is illegal, however, the areas between what is actaully abuse and what is strict parenting is gray.

Children who are physically abused are likely to receive bone fractures, especially rib fractures,[57] and may have a higher risk of developing cancer.[58] Children who experience child abuse & neglect are 59% more likely to be arrested as a juvenile, 28% more likely to be arrested as an adult, and 30% more likely to commit violent crime. Children with a history of neglect or physical abuse are at risk of developing psychiatric problems. Physically abused children may be: watchful, cautious of adults aggressive or abusive bullying other children or being bullied themselves unable to concentrate, underachieving at school and avoiding activities that involve removal of clothes, e.g. sports having temper tantrums and behaving thoughtlessly

lying, stealing, truanting from school and getting into trouble with the police finding it difficult to trust other people and make friends

Sexual abuse: Child sexual abuse is when an adult or older adolescent abuses a child for sexual stimulation. Some forms of sexual child abuse are pressuring the child to involve in sexual activities, using children for child pornography, indecent exposure of gentials to a child, ect. According to the NSPCC, For the children who experienced sexual abuse in the family, the most common perpetrator was a brother or stepbrother, and the second most common was the father. Also, 15% to 25% of women and 5-15% of men were sexually abused as a child.

The final type of child abuse is emotional: Emotional child abuse is hard to define, but could fall into calling names, ridicule, excessive cristism or the torture or destruction of a pet, etc. Signs of a child facing emotional abuse are: Sudden speech disorders, lack of development or growth, Continual self-depreciation, Overreaction to mistakes, etc.

Emotional abuse, as well all other other child abuse can cause mental problems which lead to disrtupive or withdrawn behaviour from the child.

When some of these children become parents, especially if they suffer from posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), dissociative symptoms, and other forms of child abuse, they may encounter difficulty when faced with their infant and young children's needs, which may in turn lead to adverse consequences for their child's social-emotional development Child abuse can be scarring and needs to be stopped because Every week in England and Wales one to two children will die following cruelty It is the job of teachers, officers, social workers, and mostly parents, relatives and friends to report any child abuse, anf failing to do so could get you in trouble with the law.
This is from a mother talking about her son being abused:

I am a parent of a Child that was physically abused by the state certified baby sitter, He was only two then. He was made to be put under a hot or cold shower if he pooped in his diaper. It took him until after he was six years old before he would even put his head underwater in a swimming pool. and even longer before he would take a shower. Then I married a man that I had no clue as to what he was really about. and my son was sexually

molested for five years before I found out about it. He was scared to tell me. and it happened while I was asleep. Not always do you know that your child is being abused. However, there are tale tale signs. Like trying to commit suicide at age 8. I thought I had done something wrong being a mother and didn't know why my son wanted to die. Now I know why>. I wish I would have known sooner. it will affect me the rest of my life, and so will it affect my son. he is now 27 and he is in a bad way. He is into mainlining drugs and has totally turned on us all. ( the ones who care and love him) I couldnt take his stealing and lying anymore and had to tell him he was no longer welcome around here. And let me tell you, that was one of the hardest things I ever had to do. but I wasn't going to let him take from us any more. abuse causes so many mental problems and will affect not just the one being abused but it affects everyone that care and love them.
Child abuse is cruelty and goes against simple human rights, just because they are children, doen't mean they don't t have the right to a good life, or should be mistreated, and their vulnerabiltiy taken advanatge of.
