Professional Experience Chief Financial Officer FPA, Inc. dba Hy-Safe Technology (August 2005 to April 2012) Designs, Engineers and Installs Fall Protection Systems per ANSI and OSHA Requirements Provided financial operations management with P&L responsibility for all aspects of this closely held company. I managed installations, customer service, administration, human resources, accounting, benefit packages and light manufacturing (BOM, Costing, Inventory, Scheduling, quality control and testing). Administered contracts; Managed safety program/policies, IT and outside consultants; Supervised staff for accounts receivable (AR), accounts payable (AP), payroll (PR), customer service, construction manager, estimating, CAD and receptionist. Reduced Sales and Use Tax liability from $279,000 to $57,000 by working with the State Department of Revenue. As a result, additional Financial Policies and controls were developed and implemented. Developed the first Five-Year Strategic Management Plan for this company to expand operations. Served as Project Manager for several large critical projects. Represented the company on the ASSE ANZI Z359 Committee. (Responsible for writing industry Fall Protection Standards eventually adopted by OSHA)

Sales Associate Ewald Automotive Group, Inc. (October 2003 to August 2005) Salesman of new and used vehicles, and Airstream Trailers. Worked at Ewald while pursuing opportunities in Accounting, but gained experience in selling and closing through this position. Had highest closing ratio of floor sales personnel. Accountant and Consultant Self-employed (September 1997 to August 2003) Provided management, accounting and IT consulting to a wide range of companies/industries, as well as, providing individual and corporate tax and accounting services. Client base were primarily small businesses. Had up to five employees. Served as a consultant on projects for Deloitte & Touche, Arthur Anderson and Parson Group. Specific project highlights include: Work with BP Amoco as lead consultant. (March 1996 to August 1997) Midwests Largest Minority Owned Company Providing Building Maintenance Services Responsible for Accounting (AR, AP and PR) and Finance, HR, IT and Administration. Staff included a Controller and five accounting staff. Provided financial statements and analysis to the owners. Worked to develop a budget and budget controls to manage costs. Doubled profitability through re-engineered accounting processes with a focus on expense reductions through placement of Financial Control guidelines. Established a complete budgeting program. Addressed departments staffing and training needs, sourced and qualified new vendors, and challenged existing vendor agreements to reduce costs.
