Command Line Parameters of the Data Dolphin Software
Introduction
Command line parameters allow the Data Dolphin software to perform certain tasks automatically.
This technote applies to Data Dolphin Software version 1.8.128 and above.
Command Line Parameter Structure
Sample: func=3 ip=111.222.1.10 port=4000 end=1 UID=Test Clock=-1
Sample: func=22 ph=5551234 end=1 UID=BuenaV
The command line format will be based on:
Dolphin.exe Func=X [IP=X] [PH=X] [Port=X] Ping=X[:rate] End=X UID=X
Where "Func" or "Function" is:
0= Open software as normal and substitute all parameters on command line in place of regular
program parameters.
1= Open software with user interface (UI) and substitute IP and Port in place of IP and Port in program
options. Do nothing else.
2= Same as function 1, but also display Status.
3= Same as function 1, but also get latest data.
4= Same as function 1, but also display Status and get latest data.
21 = Open software with user interface (UI) and substitute Phone Number in place of last used Phone
Number. Do nothing else.
22 = Same as function 21, but also display Status.
23 = Same as function 21, but also get latest data.
24 = Same as function 21, but also display Status and get latest data.
Where IP is:
A normal IP address with 4 octets (111.222.1.10)
Where PH is:
A phone number
Where Port is:
Any number from 1000 to 65535
Where Ping is:
If PING is not in command line, then ping settings are taken from the program options.
0 = Do not ping site.
1 = Ping only while connecting to site via CDPD.
2 = Ping the site prior to and during connection with CDPD.
[:rate] = Ping rate (in ms) prior to and during the CDPD connection. Default is 1000ms.

Where End is:


0 = Do not quit program when done with command line execution.
1 = Quit program when done executing the command line options.
Where UID is:
A Unique Identifier (7 char max) that will appear in the name of a log file in the Logs directory should the
command line operation be successful. ie: ID=B523 then "B523.LOG" will appear in the application
subdirectory. If UID not specified, DONE.LOG is created and overwritten with each execution. Otherwise,
a UID file is appended to.
Where Clock is:
The number of hours in relation to this computer’s clock that the Dolphin's clock needs to be programmed.
IE: Clock=2 will set the Dolphin to NOW + 2 Hrs.
All options must be separated with spaces. There should be no spaces within an option.
