Regist the cluster/server problem

I have installed the Hyperion Share Service and Hyperion Financial Management in my local laptop, Hyperion Fiancial Management has registed with the share service. But when I Open the "Server and Web Configuration" to configue, I encountered some problem, wish you can help me to fix. Many Thanks! 1. In the tab "Application Server", need I to fill in the DCOM info, Domain\Username, password? 2. In the tab "Application Server Cluster", Can i give the any name to cluster name, and for the server name, can I set it to the "localhost" or not? Thanks! Re: Regist the cluster/server problem

Hi, Configuration of aplication server and application server cluster , both are clearly explained in the installation document ie hfm_install , which you can find it in http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E10530_01/doc/nav/portal_1.htm It also mentions ,which credentials to use Hope this helps Sandeep Reddy Enti HCC http://analytiks.blogspot.com

user647737: The DCOM user they are referring to would be the account you want to be used to access the processes, most likely your user account name information or a service account that has been specially created for the application. If this is a test environment for you to learn the application, I would say just use your account credentials. Assign appropriate privileges for the DCOM User: Verify DCOM user has the proper Local User permissions: Open Local Users and Groups Applet: Start >Run lusrmgr.msc Click Groups Double-click Administrators Click Add Enter USERACCOUNT (meaning the name of your user account or whichever one you decide to use)

YES you can give the cluster any basic name with the exception, of course, of weird symbols. Just name it 'HFMCLUSTER' For the server, I would NOT name 'localhost', it may work in your enclosed system, but naming 'localhost' in any configuration where multiple servers may be used could get sketchy and is a bad habit to develop. I would enter the full name of your machine, and if it has been added to a domain, i would append the domain suffix as well, ex: MYHFMSERVER.oracle.com then to register that cluster, you enter in the name of one of the servers that is a part of the cluster you want registered, HFM will then translate that name and see it as 'HFMCLUSTER', or whatever you decide to name it. Many Thanks! Kelly! I have configure the DCOM and regist the cluster/server. Now i try to open the HFM icon on my desktop, and then try to create a project, which got the error: " There was an error retrieving the User Management project list, Please verify that a project exist". But actually I have create a project named HFM in the User management console.
