TEACHING PLAN ON WOUND CARE

DESCRIPTION OF THE LEARNER: The Patient is Paquito, Kelly a 52 year old Male, Married, Roman Catholic. The patient is an OFWCompany employee. Currently residing at Lubas, La Trinidad Benguet, Baguio City. The patient was diagnosed of 9mm gallbladder stones, so his doctor advised him to have an operation immediately. The patient was scheduled for open cholecystectomy on April 28, 2012 at 7:00 in the morning. The patient can understand tagalong and English.

LEARNING NEED: Proper Care of Wound:

GOAL: The client will be able to know the step by step procedure on proper wound care
Long-Term Goal: Patients wound will heal completely without infection or other complications. Short-Term Goals: Patient will (a) correctly list three signs and symptoms of wound infection and (b) correctly perform a return demonstration of wound cleansing and bandaging.

TIME ALLOTMENT: 15-20 minutes LEARNING DIAGNOSIS: Knowledge Deficit (Care of Sutured Wound) related to no prior experience. TEACHING PLAN PROPER:
