T.J., a boy with developmental delays, is featured in Chicken Soup for the Soul: Children with Special Needs. T.J. and his father, whod long yearned for a son, settled into a routine of daily outings. Stacey, one of T.J.s sisters, was moved when she realized how much their father loved that together time. One day, as their dad made T.J. laugh, T.J. stopped and reached up to softly touch our fathers face, Stacey writes. My dad looked down at him and said Well, kiddo, it looks like its you and me for the rest of my life. There wasnt a sense of sadness or burden in my fathers voice, only acceptance and unconditional love.

Our Father God says the same to each of us: Well, kiddo, its you and me forever! No matter our weaknesses, our dierences or even our tendencies to avoid time with him, God speaks with complete acceptance and love. He loves being with us just as we are and rejoices to be our Father forever.

people to know the unsurpassing love of Christ. I want to thank so many here at Jarrettown who have been instruments of Gods grace

People find God in church when faithful members show them what God is like
and wide by the fruit of the Spirit in all interactions? Where all members lived intentionally to model the way of Christ, to inspire a shared vision, to challenge the practices that divide and hurt people, to disciple others to action, in words encourage the heart of every person they meet! What would happen? REVIVAL. When ministry gets tough and circumstances work against your congregation, remember, God is faithful! Tell stories of Gods work (continued on page 3)

A little spiritual self-awareness quiz. Answer yourself honestly on the fruits of the Spirit in your own life on a scale of 1 to 10. 10 means this is the way I act today, 1 means I have a long way to go on this item. c LOVE. Love is pre-eminent in my life. I see all people through the eyes of Christ. I have a deep compassi6n for the lost, the lonely, the weak and the poor. I am magnanimous towards those who "get in my hair." I keep no record of wrongs. I give selflessly, sometimes till it hurts. I go the extra mile. I would rather forgive 20 injuries than avenge one. God always comes first. c JOY. People know me for my joyful disposition even when there is a cause to grieve. There is a contagious radiance about me because "the joy of the Lord is my strength." I remain strong and positive
when things go wrong because I trust in God. I am quick to see the brighter side of things. I know that for my shattered plans, God has better plans. My contentment springs from the knowledge that God is sovereign and Jesus is coming, again. c PEACE. The peace of God rules my heart and mind. I stay calm in disturbing situations because my eyes are fixed on Jesus. With few exceptions (and I'm working on these) I enjoy wholesome and beautiful relationships all round. Whenever relationships are strained or fractured I take the initiative in moving toward healing and restoration. I can see the dark spots in my own life and am quick to confess them. I am willing always to pay the price of being a peace-maker in a world of bruised relationships.
c PATIENCE. I never make hasty judgements or speak hasty words. I am not quick at jumping to conclusions. I am patient with people when they fail or fall. I face opposition and discouragement with composure. I never give up. I keep cool while others are hot. I am not irritable or easily angered. My "tolerance level" is extremely high. I can put up with a lot. I accept people for who they are and not for how they perform. When I confront others, they feel I do so because I care! c KINDNESS. People feel "love's touch" when they're around me. I am blessed with a M-I-L-D disposition

# SR High Mission Trip:
On behalf of youth ministry students, parents and leaders, I want to thank the entire church for the awesome support of our youth ministry! We held our Youth Mission Sunday on April 22. Students were involved in every aspect of the service: they handed out bulletins, greeted members of the congregation, led the church in prayer and assisted in worship. They shared about their past mission trip experiences and what they are looking forward to about our trips this upcoming summer. In a special love oering, the congregation gave donated funds that cut the cost of our JR and SR High Mission trips by over 50 percent of the original cost! Praise the Lord and thank you church for your continued support of our youth ministry!
# JR High Mission Trip: We are gearing up Ocean Grove, NJ for summer as we (July 22 July 25) train and prepare for our mission trips. We are praying that the Lord moves and shows our students what it means to worship and serve in His presence as we help others.
My vision for the summer is to have students actively engaged in service through our mission trips and through other service projects. I also seek to get our students deep into the Word through Bible Studies and small groups as we seek to disciple our students in their faith.
Contact me with any questions! Blessings! Nick Agazarian Youth Pastor jumcyouth@comcast.net 267 243 5490

Looking for a great idea for FATHERS DAY? Does your father (or the man who is like a father to you) like to barbecue? Wouldnt he love to grill up some burgers or steaks to be accompanied by Corn Salad, Cheese Potatoes or Eggs and Baked Bean Salad? How about dessert? Cheese Cake? Texas Chocolate Cake? Or Peanut Butter Pie? You can find recipes for all of these delicious dishes in Our Daily Bread, which will be on sale for $15 each in the narthex between services. If your father (or the man who is like a father to you) loves to cook beyond the grill, he would also love a copy of Our Daily Bread for his very own. Look for the table in the narthex.

the coin boxes which, when filled, took two of us to carry to the coin counter at the bank and netted over $600!! Along with other donations we were able to send St. Andrews over $1,000. What a wonderful gift it is to be able to help so many others. April showers bring May flowers and your purchases will make it possible for us to donate enough to sponsor five inner-city kids for a week at Carson-Simpson Farm. Imagine the seeds that will be sown from your blooms!! Thanks very much. Our ladies continue to work on the no-sew blankets for OHAAT and have finished 9 more (that we know of). Finished blankets and other bedding donations can be left in the Missions corner of the narthex or with Jean Graber in her oce. Finally, an update on our overseas missionaries, the Pedersens. Dave and Mari and the kids are finally settled in their new home even though they still have boxes and boxes to unpack. Dave has installed a new security alarm in the studio building and has had the output increased from 100,000 watts to 500,000 watts. The family is keeping up with Joshuas ongoing medical issues and he is improving all the time. Hes doing so well that he took up soccer and managed to tear a muscle in his hip requiring another trip to the hospital. no more soccer for Joshua. Mari has had a few bouts of colds and such but all in all everyone is in good health and high spirits. They express their thanks for our support in all their communications to us and wish us continued blessings.
In June our team will be focusing on our adult Mission Trip currently being proposed for late September or early October. Were looking for people 18 and older to make the short trip to Washington, Pa. to work for Habitat for Humanity at their sites in that area. The work would involve the usual construction of housing for families who will work side-byside with us as well as volunteering in Habitats home center aptly-named the Restore. On Sunday, June 17, our kick-o fundraiser will be held in Fellowship Hall from 9:30 til 12:30. Grilled cheese and tomato soup, everyone? Just $5.00 for adults and $3.00 for kids under 10 will get you all the comfort food lunch you could ask for come and enjoy, but better yet, come and volunteer!! Our Aid for Friends group meets on the third Tuesday of each month in Fellowship Hall from around 5:30 or so to assemble and package meals for our AFF freezer. We usually prepare 80 meals from a pre-selected menu and can always accept gifts of individual desserts (in sealed sandwich or snack bags) or cash support to help pay for the foods used. Of course, wed love to have you join us the more the merrier. For ways to help, contact Carole McGlumphy or Michele Scholtz. Philabundance lets break it down. Phila short for the 5-county region around Philadelphia; bundance no, not the shakeyour-booty thing. Its short for abundance and thats what we have an abundance of food but a problem in getting it to the people who need it. Our JUMC volunteers helped to sort and package 10,936 pounds of canned and dry goods plus 1,200 pounds of fresh carrots on April 24. Come out and give us a hand on the 4th Tuesday of each month. The JUMC bus leaves our parking lot at 5PM and well look forward to seeing you there. During Lent we undertook a coin collection for St. Andrews Society which also is an organization dedicated to getting food from where its grown to where the need is. The first donations were made at the Mark Kroos concert which took in over $200. next came
