Dont Miss Your Chance to Bless and Be Blessed...The Needs are Many Nothing But Nets
June/July WMU Project COIN COLLECTION... Our change makes a difference! Malaria Kills....Malaria is particularly devastating in Africa, where it is a leading killer of children. In fact, there are 10 new cases of malaria every second. Every 45 seconds, a child in Africa dies from a malaria infection. Needed: Long-Lasting Insecticide-Treated Bed Nets Although $10 for a bed net may not sound like much, the cost makes them out of reach for most people at risk of malaria, many of whom survive on less than $1 a day. Nets are a simple, life-saving solution, but we need your help to provide them to those in need. Join us now. Send a net and save a life. Get your container for COINS after church on Sunday.
A Sons Tribute to his Father The San Francisco Theological Seminary received a moving letter from a man who enclosed a check from his deceased fathers small amount of assets. In his letter, Norman Anderson said that his clergyman father, Lincoln Anderson, had served only small churches during his 52 years as a pastor. Yet Lincoln and his wife had put three children through college, and gave generously to every church he served, as well as to his beloved seminary when possible.
Lincoln died, said the son, without much more than his wits and a small house. Still, shortly before dying, Lincoln asked Norman to send his final gift to the school where he had been trained for the ministry. The son ended his letter with these words: Dad was proud to be a SFTS graduate and proud of the schools work. Therefore it is my privilege to honor his request with the enclosed check as his final gift to the seminary. This may read oddly, but father or not, Lincoln Anderson is the finest man Ive ever known.

Many times we are asked, Who is my deacon? To help you, we will list the Deacon of the Week and his list of families in the WLBC Bulletin ENewsletter. There will be a complete list posted on the bulletin board near the church office. This complete list is alphabetical by your last name. We hope this will help you know who your deacon is for the year. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the church office.
A Childs Curiosity A little girl attending her first wedding was impressed with the lovely white gown the bride was wearing. After a while, she whispered to her mother, Why is the bride dressed in white? Bending down and whispering softly in the childs ear, she answered, Because white is the color of happiness. The child then glanced over at the groom and the groomsmen in their black tuxedos. She whispered again, Mom, why is the groom dressed in black? Shouldnt he be happy, too?
