Just Around The Corner...

Life is an Echo The father turned to his son and explained, People call that an echo, but its really life. Life always gives back to you what you give to it. Life is a mirror of all your actions. If you want to be loved, give love. If you want respect, give respect. If you A man and his young son were walking on a mountain trail when the boy tripped on a rock and twisted his ankle. Ahhhhh! he screamed in pain. Ahhhhh! came a distant reply from the mountain. The startled boy shouted back, Who are you? Who are you? replied the voice from the mountain. This made him angry, so he shouted, Youre a big coward! Youre a big coward! was the reply. The puzzled boy looked at his father and asked, Dad, whats going on? Son, the father replied, listen to this. He then shouted, I admire you! I admire you! answered the voice. You are wonderful! shouted the dad. And the voice replied, You are wonderful! The Week at a Glance

Dark as my path may seem to others, I carry a magic light in my heart. Faith, the spiritual strong searchlight, illumines the way, and although sinister doubts lurk in the shadow, I walk unafraid toward the enchanted wood where the foliage is always green, where joy abides ... in the presence of the Lord. Helen Keller

A Special Note To: WLBC family, On behalf of the childrens department, we would like to thank you for your generous donation of $1910.00, from the dessert auction. Dont Miss Your Chance to Bless and Be Blessed...The Needs are Many Nothing But Nets
June/July WMU Project COIN COLLECTION... Our change makes a difference! Malaria Kills....Malaria is particularly devastating in Africa, where it is a leading killer of children. In fact, there are 10 new cases of malaria every second. Every 45 seconds, a child in Africa dies from a malaria infection. Needed: Long-Lasting Insecticide-Treated Bed Nets Although $10 for a bed net may not sound like much, the cost makes them out of reach for most people at risk of malaria, many of whom survive on less than $1 a day. Nets are a simple, life-saving solution, but we need your help to provide them to those in need. Join us now. Send a net and save a life. Get your container for COINS after church on Sunday.

A Sons Tribute to his Father The San Francisco Theological Seminary received a moving letter from a man who enclosed a check from his deceased fathers small amount of assets. In his letter, Norman Anderson said that his clergyman father, Lincoln Anderson, had served only small churches during his 52 years as a pastor. Yet Lincoln and his wife had put three children through college, and gave generously to every church he served, as well as to his beloved seminary when possible.

Lincoln died, said the son, without much more than his wits and a small house. Still, shortly before dying, Lincoln asked Norman to send his final gift to the school where he had been trained for the ministry. The son ended his letter with these words: Dad was proud to be a SFTS graduate and proud of the schools work. Therefore it is my privilege to honor his request with the enclosed check as his final gift to the seminary. This may read oddly, but father or not, Lincoln Anderson is the finest man Ive ever known.

A Childs Curiosity A little girl attending her first wedding was impressed with the lovely white gown the bride was wearing. After a while, she whispered to her mother, Why is the bride dressed in white? Bending down and whispering softly in the childs ear, she answered, Because white is the color of happiness. The child then glanced over at the groom and the groomsmen in their black tuxedos. She whispered again, Mom, why is the groom dressed in black? Shouldnt he be happy, too?
