Biometrics in secure e-transactions

ABSTRACT
In the present day world, online shopping using WAP enabled mobile phone has widely come into use. Credit cards serve as the currency during e-business and e-Shopping. As technology has advanced in the negative side also hackers and spoofers steal misuse credit card numbers, even though the network has been made secure. So, in this paper, we have proposed a multi-biometric model (integrating voice, fingerprint and facial scanning) that can be embedded in a mobile phone, this making etransactions more secure. The model is very cost effective as we have tried to use the hardware already present in the phone. This paper uses for image processing or facial recognization and finger print. We have also simulated a few graphs for voice recognition and facial verification using MATLAB 6.0 Submitted by : M.KALAIVANI I.SHARMILA

Bluetooth Hacking and Security

Abstract:

Todays world one more world war would lead to total destruction of the entire planet. After 2 world wars now we are posed to the modern warfare the digital crime and wars. At this juncture it is very obvious that we being a part of the digital world are also vulnerable to such threats of security. And it becomes mandatory for each of us to safeguard ourself against those who try to approach us with malicious intent. Mobile- the word to denote movable nature has now become as a reference only to the cellular phones. But still let us stick on to the earlier definitions; the devices now referred as Bluetooth devices enable such mobility for the peripherals attached to the computers and even the cellular phones make use of this Bluetooth technology. Now the world is moving towards a lazy era where we wish to do everything just by staying in our place. The wireless connectivity, being the essence of Bluetooth serves this wish of humans and thus greatly adopted by us. As much need as it has got, are the threats too here we present an awareness on the techniques prevailing for Bluetooth hacking and also the preventive measures to defend yourself. POWER GENERATION USING VEHICLE BREAKE

Abstract: When riding a bicycle, a great amount of kinetic energy is lost when braking, making start up fairly strenuous. The goal of our project was to develop a product that stores the

energy which is normally lost during braking, and reuses it to help propel the rider when starting. This was accomplished with a spring and cone system whose parameters were optimized based on engineering, consumer preference, and manufacturing models. The resulting product is one which is practical and potentially very profitable in the market place. A spring is stretched by a wire which wraps around a cone, while braking. A clutch is then released and the cone drives the bikes gears to assist the rider while starting. Submitted by : A.RAMARAJAN , S.RANJITH College Name : K.S.R COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING

SOLAR BIRD
ABSTRACT: The energy situation now is confronting the world. Industrialization and urbanization will mean sharply increased energy use. Reliance on fossil fuels could produce unprecedented environmental damage. And now the major problem facing Planet Earth is provision of an adequate supply of clean energy. There are really only a few good options for meeting the additional energy needs of the new century in an environmentally acceptable way. One of the so-called new renewable is solar power. Solar power captured on the Earth is familiar to all. However, an alternative approach to exploiting solar power is to capture it in space and convey it to the Earth by wireless means. As with terrestrial capture, Space Solar Power (SSP) provides a source that is virtually carbon-free and sustainable. The powercollecting platforms would most likely operate in geosynchronous orbit where they would be illuminated 24 hours a day (except for short eclipse periods around the equinoxes). Thus, unlike systems for the terrestrial capture of solar, a space-based system would not be limited by the vagaries of the day-night cycle. Furthermore, if the transmission frequency is properly chosen, delivery of power can be carried out essentially independent of weather conditions. Thus Space Solar Power could provide base load electricity. We call the solar power satellite as SOLAR BIRD. By : NAFEES AHAMED.M,

NANOROBOTICS
ABSTRACT:
Nanorobots are nanodevices that will be used for the purpose of maintaining and protecting the human body against pathogens. Nano is one billionth of one. Nanotechnology is the technology in which the operations are performed on nanometrics. It is the application of different technologies primarily interested in the reduction of size. The credential part of this paper gives the theoretical application of nanodevices in the treatment of AIDS. There is no technology for the treatment of AIDS. Some of the drugs of specific composition are given to the patients depending on the intensity of the disease. The drugs using nowadays are able to increase the lifetime to a few years only. To make the treatment more specific, we use the nanodevices that use nanosensors to sense the AIDS infected WBCs. In this we are using nanorobots to get back the HIV infected WBCs. By doing so, constant levels of WBCs are maintained in the blood stream. Thus the AIDS patient is provided with the immune system so that he can defend himself from diseases.
In this paper only a theoretical analysis is given and all the information provided are specifically organized by us. In India more than 50 lakhs of people are infected by this dreaded disease and it constitutes 10% of the total infected. We are doing research on this paper and we hope that this theoretical approach can be made practical in the near future, so that the killer disease AIDS could also be made in control on the hands of Human with the emerging new technology like NANOTECHNOLOGY which has a Bio-medical Application with usage of Robots.

POWER GENERATION FROM ROAD SPEED BREAKER

SYNOPSIS: Man in his lifetime, uses energy in one form or the other. In fact whatever happens in nature, results, out of the conversion of energy in one form or the other. The blowing of the wind, the formation of the clouds and the flow of water are a few examples that stand testimony

to this fact. Of late, erratic and perfunctory usage of energy has resulted in an energy crisis, and there is a need to develop methods of optimal utilization, which will not only ease the crisis but also preserve the environment.

This project attempts to show how man has been utilizing energy and to explore prospects of optimizing the same. Researches show that the world has already had its enough shares of its energy resources. Fossil fuels pollute the environment. Nuclear energy requires careful handling of both raw as well as waste material. The focus now is shifting more and more towards the renewable sources of energy, which are essentially, nonpolluting.

Energy conservation is the cheapest new source of energy. It is an attractive technology for optimal use of available sources. This project attempts to show how energy can be tapped and used at a commonly

used system, the road-speed breakers. The number of vehicles passing over the speed breaker in roads is increasing day by day. There is possibility of tapping the energy and generating power by making the speed breaker as a power generation unit. The generated power can be used for the lamps near the speed breakers.

Hence, a project work has been done in our institution, implementing this idea practically under the title Design and Development of Power Generation Unit in Speed Breakers. This project explains clearly, the working principle of the designed system, its practical implementation, and its advantages. Design of each component has been carried out using standard procedures, and the components have been fabricated and assembled. A similar model of the system has been modeled using Pro-E. Practical testing of the system has been done with different loads at different speeds. Taking the various criteria that determine the power generation, graphs have been plotted. NANOROBOTS
ABSTRACT: Like primitive engineers faced with advanced technology, medicine must catch up' with the technology level of the human body before it can become really effective. Since the human body is basically an extremely complex system of interacting molecules (i.e., a molecular machine), the technology required to truly understand and repair the body is molecular machine technology. A natural consequence of this level of technology will be the ability to analyze and repair the human body as completely and effectively as we can repair any conventional machine today Nanotechnology is Research and technology development at the atomic, molecular and macromolecular levels in the length scale of approximately 1 -100 nanometer range, to provide a fundamental understanding of phenomena and materials at the nanoscale and to create and use structures, devices and systems that have novel properties and functions because of their small and/or intermediate size. This paper will describe a micro/nano scale medical robot that is within the range of current engineering technology. It is intended for the treatment and/or elimination of medical problems where accumulation of undesired organic substances interferes with normal bodily function.

In this paper, we will describe a NanoRobot that can be created with existing technology , that can be used to seek out and destroy inimical tissue within the human body that cannot be accessed by other means. The construction and use of such devices would result in a number of benefits. Not only would it provide either cures or at least a means of controlling or reducing the effects of a number of ailments, but it will also provide valuable empirical data for the improvement and further development of such machines. Practical data garnered from such operations at the microscopic level will allow the elimination of a number of false trails and point the way to more effective methods of dealing with the problems inherent in operation at that level. We will address and propose the method of entry into the body, means of propulsion, means of maintaining a fixed position while operating, control of the device, power source, means of

locating substances to be eliminated, mans of doing the elimination and how to remove the device from the body afterward.

Direct Back EMF Detection Method for Sensorless Brushless DC (BLDC) Motor Drives
ABSTRACT
Brushless dc (BLDC) motors and their drives are penetrating the market of home appliances, HVAC industry, and automotive applications in recent years because of their high efficiency, silent operation, compact form, reliability, and low maintenance. Traditionally, BLDC motors are commutated in six-step pattern with commutation controlled by position sensors. To reduce cost and complexity of the drive system, sensorless drive is preferred. The existing sensorless control scheme with the conventional back EMF sensing based on motor neutral voltage for BLDC has certain drawbacks, which limit its applications. A novel back EMF sensing scheme, direct back EMF detection, for sensorless BLDC drives is presented. For this scheme, the motor neutral voltage is not needed to measure the back EMFs. The true back EMF of the floating motor winding can be detected during off time of PWM because the terminal voltage of the motor is directly proportional

to the phase back EMF during this interval. Also, the back EMF voltage is referenced to ground without any common mode noise. Therefore, this back EMF sensing method is immune to switching noise and common mode voltage. As a result, there are no attenuation and filtering necessary for the back EMFs sensing. This unique back EMF sensing method has superior performance to existing methods which rely on neutral voltage information, providing much wider motor speed range at low cost. Based on the fundamental concept of the direct Back EMF detection, improved circuitry for low speed /low voltage and high voltage applications are also proposed in the paper, which will further expand the applications of the sensorless BLDC motor drives. Starting the motor is critical and sometime difficult for a BLDC sensorless system. A practical start-up tuning procedure for the sensorless system with the help of a dc tachometer is described in this paper. This procedure has the maximum acceleration performance during the start-up and can be used for all different type applications. An advanced mixed-signal microcontroller is developed so that the EMF sensing scheme is embedded in this low cost 8-bit microcontroller. This device is truly SOC (system-on-chip) product, with high-throughput Micro core, precision-analog circuit, in the system programmable memory and motor control peripherals integrated on a single die. A microcontrollerbased sensorless BLDC drive system has been developed as well, which is suitable for various applications, including hard disk drive, fans, pumps, blowers, and home appliances, etc. by : M.Indirani& K.Srimathi college : P.A.College of Engg &Tech, Pollachi, Coimbatore.
