Each year, the resale jewelry boutique attracts crowds of shoppers who support our parish school through their purchases during the OMMS Christmas in July fundraiser. Once again, we are collecting AND WE DO NEED YOUR HELP. If you have jewelry that you never wear, please consider donating it to help the school raise funds. The relevance of St. Francis and the actions of Franciscan women and men for over 800 years can help us address the challenges that modern society brings to us. Political advertisements and media hype as elections near can confuse us. Franciscans (and others) cry out for us to uphold the common good, to better the lives of people caught in poverty and to bring respect to our Mother Earth. We will put a Franciscan-spin onto this by prayerfully using Scripture, art, contemplation and a sense of humor. Brother Mark is living at the St. Francis Friary in Sacramento. He is working at a non-profit agency that provides housing options for homeless folks. He lived for seven years at Mission San Luis Rey, moving three years ago. Las ganancias benefician a los ms desfavorecidos: vctimas de guerra, oprimidos, y desastres naturales. Por medio de tu generosidad, nosotros podemos llevar la paz de Cristo sobre el mundo. En dnde ves el Reino de Dios crecer?

EL TIEMPO DE DIOS
O le ponemos atencin o ignoramos la hora del reloj, cuando jugamos en el sol del verano y notamos la inclinacin de la Tierra y la prolongacin de los das. Vivimos en el tiempo. Marcamos el tiempo en segundos, minutos y horas, o hablamos de segmentos ms largos como la hora de la cena o el verano. Dios marca el tiempo de otra manera. Dios nos habla de ahorrar tiempo, es decir, el tiempo de la salvacin. Este sentido del tiempo se llama kairos, y esta vez es siempre ahora, siempre presente y disponible, siempre revelador. A menudo sorprendente. Las lecturas de este domingo nos alertan sobre la realidad y la importancia del tiempo de Dios. Ezequiel y el Evangelio segn San Marcos nos recuerdan que nuestro trabajo y nuestros planes dependen de Dios. Porque l toma nuestros pequeos esfuerzos y hace de ellos grandes obras. Pablo nos seala el tiempo de la cosecha, nos insta a estar atentos a su cumplimiento y nos llama a reconocer que debemos dedicar nuestro tiempo a agradar a Dios.
