The department of Forestry & Environmental Science is one of the oldest department of the country imparting the forestry education since 1978. The department is Accredited A Grade by the Indian Council of Forestry Research and Education (ICFRE) and recognized under the University Grants Commission Innovative programme for Post Graduate Diploma in Mountain Ecosystem and Climate Change. The growing environmental concern like climate change, deforestation, land use pattern, environmental pollution and growing demand of raw material for natural resource based industries, food, shelter and clothes, the Forestry and Environmental Science are the area which takes these challenges for mitigation. The department has a well equipped laboratory, green houses, vehicles, qualified staff and surrounded by good natural forest cover from foothill Sal forest to high altitude oak conifer forests. The department provides filed training to the students and interact with scientists, wildlife specialists, naturalists, industries and institutions of national and international reputes. The B.Sc. Forestry course is completed in 4 years (8 semester) with minimum fee. Interested students from Biology and Mathematic streams at secondary level may apply for the course. Last date of submission of admission form is 30 June 2012. The form can be downloaded from the University web site www.kuntl.in. or obtained from the office in cash or downloaded from web site and send to the department accompanied by a Demand draft of Rs. 1000 (Rupees one thousand only). The admission will be on the basis of merit.
