Basic reference for fire and life safety designs from NBC. & Tariff advisory committee (TAC) rules. Reference: Table No 23 Group F Mercantile Building (A) Underground Tank Capacity (m) Not Required 7.2. SCOPE: The scope of work for the proposed system will involve the following: Fire water storage at roof top Fire Pumps 7.3 SYSTEM DESCRIPTION: Overhead tank with capacity of 25m (static storage) is proposed on terrace in two compartments- one-each for fire fighting & domestic. Water will be supplied from existing ESR tank to UG Tank for commercial blocks. From UG tank, water will be pumped to fire water compartment, from which water will overflow to the domestic storage.container Fire pump will be electrically driven centrifugal pump. Diesel driven pump set is also provided. In case of power failure, the pumping system will switch over automatically to DG set through auto main failure (AMF) Panel. Fire extinguisher, hose reel, down comer, will be provided at all staircase landings. Also street side Stand post type Fire Hydrants also re commanded at selected spots. Manual operated electric fire alarm system at common area like lobby, passages, entry & exit places are proposed. The traveling distance for a person to reach manual call point should not be more than 30mtrs. 8.0 Internal System: Sewage disposal system for soil and waste water will be based on most efficient, functional and economical. Two pipe systems (waste and soil) will be provided to carry soil and waste water from building under gravity. Waste water pipes are to be connected to inspection chamber or manhole through gulley trap and soil pipes. The vertical down take pipe will be extended upward up to terrace

level for ventilation purposes and will be provided with ventilating cowl. External System: The waste water generated in each individual household will be carried to inspection chamber, ultimately to be conveyed to road boundary manhole. The external collecting system covering whole project area will be provided in road shoulder. Client has fixed general road level between R.L 86 to R.L.87.30 for entire project area. This fact has been kept in mind while system development. Manholes are provided at convenient distance on need basis. The waste water generated will ultimately be taken to exiting M.H (B) of ULB located near Ratanda Circle about 550m away from West side boundary of Phase-II The proposed road formation levels in development plan for apartments in South side are falling from West to East, (RL 87.30 to RL 86.30) that is in reverse flow than general configuration slope from East to West, which helps in gravity flow for all remaining drainage area. Due to this specific reverse slope, in a length of about 110 m, deeper excavation will be necessary to achieve required slope. This is brought to notice. Further, in South area, one block of Villa and Commercial complex are proposed, the levels are dropping rather in South, which do not allow gravity flow as compared to remaining project area. Here introduction of one pumping station will be necessary with low head pumping along with short length of rising which will convey waste water to near by gravity system MH As informed, the details of ULB sewer M.H are as under. Size : 5*6 ft Depth: 12 ft Invert level: RL 79:555 m with size of sewer 3 ft Sewage Disposal: Waste water generated from entire project area is to released into ULB collecting system in the MH located near Ratanda area. 8.1. SOLID WASTE MANAGEMENT CODES OF STANDARDS & DESIGN BASIS

National Building Code (NBC) Manual of Solid Waste Guideline rules prescribed by Supreme Court During daily human activities, considerable quantity of solid waste to generated. The waste in general is of organic and inorganic nature. The classification of materials can at under Food waste Rubbish Ashes and residues Special wastes

General Source of Generation : Residential Apartment Food waster, rubbish, ashes, special waste Commercial Storm, Shops etc food wastes, ashes, demolished and constructional waste Open areas Street, alleys etc Special waste rubbish as well as vegetative wastes Street sweeping Soil dust, paper waste and assorted various types of wastes Government as well as Hon. Supreme court has laid down certain norms and rules for collection, storage, conveyance, treatment and final disposal of solid waste. The pattern of generation has been analyzed by NEERI and has come up with an yard stick to assess and calculate per capita generation of Solid waste under Indian conditions. These norms are adopted for assessing total likely generation of solid waste in Phase II project. ESTIMATE OF WASTE GENERATION SR. generation points, so that further processing can be smoothly handed. It will be necessary to provide small capacity containers either static or movable at strategic places to store solid waste, which then can be transferred and removed for treatment and disposal. For such a small quantity to go for in house management system will not be viable from economic and management point of view. Hence it is advised to have a suitable tie-up with local authority for management of solid waste. 10.0 STORM WATER SYSTEM & RAIN WATER HARVESTING The area is arid. From the rainfall data supplied from 1988 to 2008, the following facts are revealed: Rainfall is mostly received in months of June, July, Aug, and sometimes in September. The maximum / minimum rainfall in a mouth is summarized as under. MAXIMUM Mouth June 88 July 90 Aug 92 Sept 06 Rainfall (mm) 173 496 317 137 Mouth June 2001 July 06 Aug 93 Sept 95 MINIMUM Rainfall (mm) 03 44 06 01

The value of maximum rainfall in decade is 820 mm, (1990) while that of minimum 232 mm (1993). As per analysis done by Indian Meteorological Department, the maximum intensity of rainfall for different span period years for Jodhpur area is as under:

Design Report

Frequency 50 year 5 year 2 year

Max Intensity mm/hr 70 40 30

The system is designed on evaluating such data. The client has constructed a very large water body in a form of step well in phase I project in an area called Navchowkia. The rain run-off of Phase II is to be drained to this step well for storage and possibly recharging. No any recharging system other than this is proposed at this stage. Assuming maximum intensity at rainfall per hour as 30 mm (being arid area) the run-off from different built up area and open area is assessed as under. The run-off is be calculated using rational formula as under Q = 10 x A x K x I, under Q = Run-off in cum / hr A = Area in hector K = co. efficient of run-off I = max. rain fall intensity mm/hour Run-off Calculation A in Structure surface h k a I Q

East because of ultimate discharge point being step well. The villa and commercial complex located in South side being rather at lower levels, it may not be possible to drain the run off to step well possibly by gravity. Hence there is possibility of introducing a pumping station at lower level i.e. round about R.L 84 or 85. The run-off will be collected in a sump of capacity say 2 hours Low head pump will discharge run-off into a nearest man hole of parent gravity system. During non-monsoon period, the pumping machinery can be removed after due servicing and kept safely in store room. RCC nP3pipes are provided as per decision taken on 06- 07 09. Necessary provision is made for manhole and catch pits. As regards Villa located in the East direction, due to planned steep slope of road, this area will be drained by gravity by provision of depressed catch] pits and not by providing any underground pipeline. All the run off will be drained from West to East mostly by gravity with ultimate point of discharge being step well located in Phase 1 area through existing MH of storm water drain of Phase 1 ESTIMATE Estimates are . prepared taking into cosideration prevailing rates in Gujarat state Contigency is considered at 5% on estimated cost, which is normal prevaling practice. It is likely that on getting final architecture drawings, there can be every possibility in cost structure modification.
