Unity Awareness

Doron Shadmi "Laws of Form" (LoF) is a book that was written by George Spencer-Brown in 1969, which tries to formalize the linkage between Philosophy and Mathematics by using the concept of Distinction, such that the observed, the observer and the tool of observation are inseparable of each other. LoF has two axioms, which are based on the notion of minimal representation of the represented, as follows:

According to the first axiom, redundant representation is simplified into distinguished represented. According to the second axiom, distinguished representation is simplified into void, which has no representation at all. In that case, LoF is not tuned to deal with Uncertainty and Redundancy, which may take place in finite or infinite systems as a property of the concept of Distinction. By using visual_spatial AND verbal_symbolic observer's brain skills, Distinction is known as follows:

NOthing (not notated by any symbol) is that is below members' membership. YESthing (notated by the outer "(" and ")" symbols) is that is above members' membership. Unity (thing) is among NO,SOME,EVERY,YES Ploychotomy.

By using visual_spatial AND verbal_symbolic observer's brain skills, the outer ( ) is an intuitive notation for YESthing, where the void between ( ) is an intuitive notation for NOthing. Definition 1: The outer ( ) is above members' membership. Definition 2: The void between the outer ( ) is below members' membership. Definition 3: Members' membership is the irreducibility into NOthing AND the nonexpansion into YESthing. Definition 4: __ is the linkage, known also as Unity, among definitions 1,2 and 3. An example of Definition 3: ( ( ) ) , such that the internal brackets are irreducible into NOthing AND non-expansible into YESthing. According to Definition 3 Russell's paradox is solved since the concept of Set, which is represented by the outer ( ), is irreducible into members' membership, which is represented by the internal ( ). According to Definition 3 no collection of members is complete with respect to the concept of Set, which provides naturally open framework of members. These insights are impossible without the linkage among visual_spatial AND verbal_symbolic observer's brain skills, which is provided by Definition 4. x is researchable. Definition 5: Identity is a property of x, which allows its recognition. Definition 6: Copy is a duplication of a single identity. Definition 7: If x has more than a single identity, which does not allow its recognition, then x is called Uncertain. Definition 8: If x has more than a single copy, then x is called Redundant. Definition 3 is not necessarily restricted into strict members, for example: ( ( ) ( ) ) The members in this example preserve symmetry under exchange, which is interpreted by the observer as Uncertainty AND/OR Redundancy. Definition 4 is the essence which enables the linkage among the observed, the observer and the tool of observation, whether they are strict or not, and it is known as Unity Awareness.
