Professional Interview Workshop

Date: 6 July 2012 (Friday) Time: 2.30pm am to 5.00pm Venue: IEM Penang Secretariat
SYNOPSIS
This workshop will be conducted by a panel of experienced professional interviewers. The purpose of the workshop is to provide guidance to the engineering graduates who are seeking registration as Professional Engineers. Topics include: Requirement for registration as Professional Engineer Application for registration Guidelines on Professional Interview Preparation of document for Professional Interview Requirements for various engineering disciplines

The aim of the workshop is to brief and update the Examiners on the requirements of BEMs Professional Assessment Examination (PAE) as well as to provide guidance to the Examiners on complying to the requirements of the PAE.

SPEAKERS BIODATA IR ISHAK BIN ABDUL RAHMAN

Ir Ishak Abdul Rahman graduated with a Bachelor of Science (Hons) degree in Civil Engineering from The University of Strathclyde, UK in 1974. He further obtained his Master of Science in Engineering in Hydraulics, Hydrology and Coastal Dynamics from the same University. He has been involved in academic works for over 40 years and in engineering practice for over 30 years. Ir Ishak is an active Fellow Member and also a Council Member of the Institution of Engineers, Malaysia (IEM).

IR JUARES RIZAL BIN ABD HAMID

Ir Juares Rizal is an active Fellow member of the Institution. Ir Juares holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania, USA. He has 30 years of experience in the oil, gas and petrochemical industry as a process engineer, project engineer and project manager. Ir Juares is currently a Consultant Engineer and is a coach in Process Engineering and Design at a multinational oil, gas and petrochemical corporation. Ir Juares is currently the Chairman of the Sub Committee on Log Book Training Scheme.

IR NOOR HISHAM BIN YAHAYA

Ir Noor Hisham graduated in 1985 with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from The University of Bridgeport, USA. He has been in maintenance and project construction role for the last 20 years. He has more than 4 years been involved in oil-fired thermal power plant operations and boiler maintenance works. He has also been involved in palm oil mill operations and maintenance. He has spent over 10 years in refinery maintenance and project engineering with Shell in various capacities; as Plant Maintenance Engineer, Turnaround Planning Engineer, Turnaround Manager, Project Engineering Manager and Maintenance Manager. He was assigned a Change Manager role for 2 years; implementing and managing change events in the refinery. In the last 4 years with Shell, he was involved in the implementation of Integrated Maintenance Contract for the refinery and Tank Maintenance contract for the depots throughout Malaysia. In the development of these Contracts, he was involved in the contracting strategies and implementation of new changes to the organization.

IR DR MUHAMAD FUAD ABDULLAH

Ir Dr Muhamad Fuad is a Professional Engineer (PEng) and holds a BSc (1st Class Hons), as well as a Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering from the Southampton University. He is also a Syariah Lawyer with a BA Syariah Degree from Jordan University; while his PhD (Aberdeen University) is in the field of Muslim Civilisation. He has been working in the engineering field since his graduation in 1977 and has served both in the public and private sectors, particularly in the areas of consultancy and project management. He is a FIEM, MIEEE, MCIArb, MACEM and ASEAN Eng besides being an accredited CIDB Mediator. Ir Dr Muhamad Fuad was the Chairman of the IEM Training Board and is also a past Council Member of the Institution. He has been in the Engineering Education Technical Division since its first inception in 1999. He has conducted numerous Professional Interviews for the IEM and BEM.
