Master of Science in Information Systems MSIS


The Master of Science in Information Systems (MSIS) is designed for the individual who may not have an undergraduate Information Systems (IS) degree or related emphasis. It serves those market segments where an IS graduate degree is preferred: individuals entering systems positions; those who wish to teach computer applications and IS at community and four-year colleges; and those who will work with IS in areas such as hospital administration and law enforcement. The MSIS is designed to provide an IS education that is relevant to current career opportunities. The overall approach of the program focuses on careers involved in deploying computer technology to address the problems and opportunities of modern organizations. To be considered for admission to the Master of Science in Information Systems program, a student must be admitted to the College of Graduate Studies. The study of MSIS involves a 30 graduate credit program that includes the following required courses. Each student must complete a comprehensive examination and a thesis or scholarly project.

Students may follow one of two available areas of emphasis in the MSIS

(2) Custom Developed Software The Enterprise Software area of emphasis provides a specific focus in the SAP R/3 System Software.
