OBJECTIVES: At the end of the activity, participants should be able to 1. State at least 3 of the 6 learning objectives of the Educational Technology 1 course. 2. Explain how their learnings (what they learned in Ed Tech 1) relate to at least 2 of the overall learning objectives in the Ed Tech 1 course.

MATERIALS AND RESOURCES: Blank sheets of paper Pens and colored markers or crayons Masking tape Reference: Educational Technology 2 by Paz I. Lucido, pp 9-11

ACTIVITIES:

Part 1: Draw-Pair-Share 1. State the lesson and distribute the blank sheets of paper, pens, markers, and crayons. 2. Tell the participants that they have to draw a symbol of the most important thing they learned from Ed Tech 1. Remind them to keep the drawing simple. 3. Ask them to share their work with their seatmate. 4. The person that they explained their work to will present their drawing to the class, and then post the drawing on the board using the masking tape. Ask the owner of the drawing if the presentation was correct of if they would like to add anything.

Part 2: Consolidation 1. Arrange the drawings on the board according to the 6 learning objectives of Ed Tech 1. To save time, its better to have the spaces pre-assigned. After one student has presented, you can ask him/her to post the drawing on a pre-assigned space. 2. Explain to the class how the knowledge that they gained from Ed Tech 1 are related to at least one of the overall learning objectives of the course.

WRAP-UP /ASSESSMENT: 1. Summarize the learning objectives. 2. Ask the students: Do you know how your learnings fit in with the course objectives of Ed Tech 1? How about your classmates learnings?

REFLECTION: Provide writing assignments to be incorporated in their journal writing requirement for the course. Ask them to answer at least 2 of the following questions: 1. After seeing what you and your classmates have learned from Ed Tech 1 through PowerPoint presentations, classroom activities, film showings and reflective writing, what is your opinion on how the course was conducted? Using the knowledge that you have learned, complete (and elaborate on) the following sentences: I found the course effective because The course could be improved by The presenters could be more effective if 2. What instructional media are you the least comfortable using? How can you overcome any fears or barriers preventing you from becoming adept at using such media? 3. Although modern technology is pervasive, there will always be some disparity in the levels of technological competency among students in any given class. As a teacher, how will you level the playing field in the subject you are teaching without eliminating the use of modern technology?
