Environmental Information

Environmental aspects on Duro’s wallpapers


Since the 1950:ies Duro has been consistent in choosing raw materials that are
harmless for the environment and health in our production, e.g. only water
based coatings, that are harmless for the environment, are used in the
production. This also results in that no harmful waste is produced in the process
of making the wallpaper and it also gives us a healthy environment in our
production plant.

Allergy/Asthma
The wallpaper is produced without material that will provoke allergic reaction.
All wallpapers produced by Duro are free from heavy metals, PVC, solvents
and other environmental harmful substances.

Solvent-free
The wallpaper contains no solvents, since all Duro’s products are produced with
water based printing ink.

Recycling and Waste


The wallpaper can be paper or energy recycled. No wallpaper of Duro is
considered as hazardous waste.

Packaging
All the packaging is recyclable. Duro is connected to the Swedish REPA-
register.

Formaldehyde
Formaldehyde occurs naturally in pulp, therefore formaldehyde can be detected
from wallpaper. The formaldehyde emission from the paper base is well below
the limits set by the standard RAL-GZ 479: 2002.

Extra-washable Wallpaper from which dirt and most domestic water


wallpaper: based stains may be cleaned from the front face with a
wet cloth and soapy water. Oils, fats and solvent based
stains are not expected to be removable, but some greasy
stains may be removed if action is taken immediately
after contamination. The wallpaper is Extra-washable
according to standard EN 233.

Very good colour Colour fastness to light is rated 6-8 in a scale from 1 to 8
fastness: (where 8 is the highest rating) according to the standard
ISO 105 - B02.

Fire classification: Wallpaper hanged on not combustible foundation will


not affect the course of the fire. The fire classification is
class I on not combustible foundation, class II on plaster
board according to standard SS 02 48 23 (NT FIRE
004).

Opacity: We have chosen a special paper base, which together


with our ink covers the background totally.

Adhesive Modified starch or cellulose based adhesive. The


recommendation: adhesive is applied to the back of the wallpaper. After 5
minutes soaking the wallpaper is ready to be attached to
the wall.

the background as paper-based wallpapers.

Adhesive PVAc reinforced adhesive. The adhesive is applied to
