SOLICITATION OF INTERESTED FIRMS FOR ARCHITECTURAL AND ENGINEERING DESIGN SERVICES

PROJECT: Westfield Terminal 2 Redevelopment and Retail Concessions Program LOCATION: Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) Los Angeles, California

Westfield Concession Management LLC is currently soliciting local and national Architectural Firms to submit a Letter of Interest and background qualifications for Architectural and Engineering Design Services for the Project at Terminal 2 at the Los Angeles International Airport. Westfield Concessions Management, LLC (WCM) has been selected as the Firm to take over the existing Concessions Program for Terminal 2 ( International Terminal ) as well as completely redevelop / redesign the post security passenger and retail concession areas in the main departure concourse as well as in the lower levels arrival area. We are seeking Letters of Interest from qualified Architectural and Engineering Design Firms with previously demonstrated capability and expertise in creating dynamic and exciting retail environments. As WCM has already established the conceptual design for the Project, the short-listed firms will be invited to submit their proposals to play a pivotal role in the Schematic, Design Development, and Construction Documentation Phases in conjunction with our in-house Retail Design Team. It is through this professional collaboration between WCM and the awarded firm(s) that the final results are anticipated to be exceptional. The PROJECT SCOPE has been broken down into four (4) distinct components and are as follows: I. Design Component 1: Arrivals/Departure Concession Development Program

WCM has been awarded the opportunity to redevelop the Terminal 2 Concessions Program at LAX. The Conceptual Design Package includes provisions for approximately 14,100 square feet of various retail development within the departures portion of the terminal at Level 3 as well as new common area restrooms. It also provides for new flooring, ceilings, seating, and other finishes and traveler amenities throughout the remaining common areas at Level 3 (see light gray/blue shading on enclosed conceptual floor plan ). There are also provisions for 3,400 square feet of retail area to be situated at the Level 2 Arrivals portion of the terminal. The selected Design Team will be responsible for developing the conceptual design package of this shell and core exercise from Concept through Design Development.

II. Design Component 2: Rooftop Restaurant / Club / Lounge WCM has identified an opportunity to develop the residual roof at the northernmost terminus of Terminal 2 with an approximately 10,000 square foot upscale and architecturally significant restaurant, club, and lounge. The selected Design Team will be responsible for developing the conceptual design package of this shell and core exercise from Concept through Design Development. III. Construction Documentation Component 1: Arrivals/Departure Concession Development Program The selected A&E team will be responsible for providing complete Architectural and Engineering Services to take the Design Component 1 drawing package from the 30% Design Development package through 100% Construction Documentation including Permitting and Bid Phases. IV. Construction Documentation Component 2: Rooftop Restaurant / Club /Lounge The selected A&E team will be responsible for providing complete Architectural and Engineering Services to take the Design Component 2 drawing package from the 30% Design Development package through 100% Construction Documentation including Permitting and Bid Phases. It is anticipated that the aforementioned Project Scope will entail the need for Structural, Mechanical, Plumbing, Electrical, Acoustical, Cost Estimating, Fire Life Safety, and Interior Design Consultants which shall be under the guidance of the selected A&E firm(s).

SUBMITTAL REQUIREMENTS
It is expected that the awarded A&E firm(s) shall be in current compliance with regards to all City/County/ State licensing requirements as well as all administrative requirements of LAWA and the City of Los Angeles. All Firms expressing interest in being considered for the RFP submission should be prepared to sign and agree to: 1. WCM / LAWA Non-Disclosure and Confidentiality Agreement (attached) 2. WCM Consultant Agreement (attached) 3. WCM Insurance Requirements (attached) 4. WCM Acknowledgement Agreement (attached) Along with your Firms Letter of Interest, we are requesting you include the following information: Relevant Firm Experience The Firms overall reputation, service capabilities and quality as it relates to this Project. The Firms experience, if any, working within an airport environment, and more specifically at LAX. List and briefly describe any comparable projects completed by your firm or currently in progress. Please include the project name and location, your Firms role, contract value, and construction value. Please provide references for said projects and contact numbers. Any marketing materials of the above mentioned projects.

Team Experience & Qualifications Describe each proposed team members position within the Firm and provide resumes of each. Briefly describe each team members anticipated role on this project. Identify proposed Consultants that you feel will benefit the Project.

Describe your firms project management approach including in-house systems used
for planning, scheduling, estimating and managing design services. Describe the Firms in-house capabilities with regards to quality assurance and control. Your Firms current workload and ability to proceed promptly.

SHORT LIST SELECTION PROCESS AND SCHEDULE
A 3-member Review Panel will evaluate each Firms submission and make their recommendations as to who they feel to be the best choice for the particular Project Scope Component (I,II,III,and IV). WCM shall select three (3) finalists for each Scope Component that shall be short-listed to receive an RFP (Request For Proposal) package and invited to a personal interview. Those Firms not selected for further consideration will be notified. The following tentative schedule has been prepared for this Project. A. B. C. D. Letter of Interest submittal due: Tuesday, July 3, 2012 by 4:00pm PST Selection deadline of RFP Recipients: Friday, July 13, 2012 Issuance of RFP to selected Firms: Week of July 16th, 2012 Anticipated RFP submission deadline: July 27, 2012
