It is better to pre-measure 1.50 liters of water. Let us all know that our ancestors termed this therapy as "Usha Paana Chikitsa". You may wash your face thereafter. 2) Here it is very essential to note that nothing else - neither drinks nor solid food of any sort - should be taken within 1? hours before and after drinking this 1.50 liters of water. 3) It is also to be strictly observed that no Alcoholic drinks should be taken the previous night. 4) If required, boiled and filtered water may be used for this purpose. Is it possible to drink 1.50 liters of water at one time? 1) To begin with, one may find it difficult to drink 1.50 liters of water at one time, but one will get used to it gradually.

Initially, while practicing you may drink four glasses first and the balance two glasses after a gap of two minutes. Initially you may find the necessity to urinate 2 to 3 times within an hour, but it will become normal after sometime. By research and experience, the following diseases are observed to be cured with this therapy within the indicated days as below Constipation: 1 day Acidity: 2 days Diabetes: 7 days BP & Hypertension: 4 weeks Cancer: 4 weeks Pulminory TB: 3 months Note: It is advised that persons suffering from Arthritis or Rheumatism should practise this therapy thrice a day, i.e., morning, midday and night, 1 hours before meals - for one week; and twice a day subsequently till the disease is cured. We make an earnest request that the above method should be read and practised carefully. Please spread this message to your friends, relatives and neighbours - it is a great service to the humanity. By God's grace all should lead healthy life.

Benefit of Water Therapy Water Therapy is a natural therapy based on the internal and external use of water in prevention and treatment of diseases, rehabilitation and improving ones overall well being The human body consists of over 60 percent water. It is not surprising then that water has so many healing applications. Water heals from both the inside out and the outside in.

Water can be therapeutic in many ways, and here are the topics of this page:

Physical water therapy - Hydrotherapy Benefit of water exercise for injuries and specific health conditions Healing Spring Water Water therapy spa: Rejuvenation through mineral bath in spring water (Balneotherapy) Seawater therapy Benefit of Sea Salt Water - Thalassotherapy Bath and Body: Relaxation and Detoxification, Home spa remedies Water Therapy Related Links

Physical Water Therapy: Different recovery centers are using water therapy programs as integrative ways to address chronic illnesses and conditions that have not responded to conventional medical modalities. In these centers, patients suffering from debilitating pain, diabetes, depression, chronic fatigue syndrome, and other illnesses have significantly improve their quality of life. Exercise is another potential pathway to reducing both depression and risk of heart disease. A recent study found that participation in an exercise training program was comparable to treatment with an antidepressant medication (a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor) for improving depressive symptoms in older adults diagnosed with major depression. Exercise, of course, is a major protective factor against heart disease as well. States the National Institutes of Health Physical water therapy incorporates many techniques including: Swimming exercise, swimming pool games, water walking exercise, massage therapy, anti aging exercises, and stretching to treat physical dysfunction or injury.

There are many benefits from participation in a physical water therapy program beyond the fact that the aquatic environment is very enjoyable: The buoyancy of the water supports and lessens stress on the joints and encourages freer movement. Water also acts as a resistance to help build muscle strength. Jump in! Burn fat, tone muscle and stay in shape even if you are plagued with knee, ankle, foot or leg problems... Water fitness programs can be highly challenging and effective for people of all ages and they have multiple healing effects, like: Relief of pain and muscle spasm Re-education of walking patterns Increased joint range Increased muscle strength Improvement of peripheral circulation Balance enhancement Support of otherwise completely immobile people Recovery from surgery (e.g. joint replacement), or complex trauma Movement pattern improvement Functional retraining for work Alternative medicine for sports injuries Physical Water Therapy recommended books * see also Bath and Body Works for training and fitness Top of the page Benefit of Water Exercise: 1. Water Therapy - natural cure for arthritis: - Water may be the only way to save you from the surgeon's knife...

The hydrostatic force of the water is thought to bring about pain relief, which may result from taking stress off the affected joint, relaxation or other factors. It is most commonly prescribed for patients with psoriatic arthritis or for rheumatoid arthritis symptom ... Arthritis Treatments 2. Water therapy - a different approach for treating Fibromyalgia: "Anyone in pain knows how soothing it is to slip into warm water. A sense of well-being flows over the skin and muscles and the mind stops working on its problems. When you add mild, appropriate exercise to the warm water, youve found an excellent recipe for relieving the aches and tenderness that accompanies fibromyalgia. By slowly stretching the neck, shoulders, upper back, and arms, youve begun to alleviate FMs symptoms. Then, when performing exercises against the waters resistance, you gain strength without risking injury. In deep water, theres no impact during exercise, so walking and running are possible even for the sorest muscles and joints." - The National Fibromyalgia Association 3. Water Therapy - efficacy of aquatics for individuals with Asthma: "There are numerous reasons why aquatic is good for individuals with asthma. These include: low asthmogenicity, induces less severe bronchoconstriction, and enhances ventilatory muscle endurance and mucus clearance. Aquatic is well tolerated, it improves lung capacity, circulation, cough reflex and breathe control. It also increases aerobic capacity, overall fitness, balance and coordination, and individuals can work at their own pace. . . ." Darlene A. Herfurt, MSHA, MBA - Water Therapy & Rehab Institute 4. Did you know that: Swimming is a liberating experience for many blind people? "There are a surprising number of blind people who have never had the courage to move rapidly, or run full speed for fear of colliding with something. Some of us, who did have the courage if not the sense, have the scars to prove it. Diving into a pool, and swimming full out, or diving deep and swimming the length under

water gives a real sense of freedom. In a pool you can assume many different body positions while moving through the water which feels wonderful, is good for you physically, and actually sensual. My sense of touch is developed not only in my fingers but also all over. When touch becomes a primary sense, instead of a secondary one, you pay much more attention to your skin sensations everywhere. The water in the pool is stimulating to the entire skin area." ... Benefit of Swimming for Visual Impairment The Complete Waterpower Workout Book: Program for Fitness, Injury Prevention, and Healing I had a devastating knee injury about five and one half months ago (the doctor stated that I may never be able to obtain my pre-injury range of motion). The traditional rehab was going very slowly and very painfully. I asked my physician if I could exercise in the water, and after his approval, I started with the workouts in this book along with my prescribed rehab. I have gained 80% of my pre-injury range of motion and on a good start with my strength and balance with VERY little pain!! My physical therapist said I started improving much more rapidly after starting the water workouts and I have already exceeded the expected post-operative range of motion. I could not have done it without the water workouts!!" tells a reader Psychological benefits of water therapy include: Relaxation due to warmth and weightlessness Increased feeling of health and well being Increased self-confidence Recreation Improved mood through positive interaction with other participants And guess what: Pets can benefit from water therapy too! Swimming is a form of rehabilitation therapy particularly appropriate for dogs and horses recovering from a range of

conditions - especially those involving problems with limbs. All animals can swim by instinct. How much they enjoy it depends on their confidence in the water and this can be increased by gradual acclimatization. Read more... Pets need clean water daily to stay cool and maintain a proper hydration level. Use a dish that is deep enough to hold a reasonable amount of water for one day. Ensure their fresh drinking water supply, because they need your love and lots of care. Drinking Water Therapy "There are isolated places on earth where people are very healthy and live for very long periods of time. They don't have dental caries or cancer, or the diseases of civilization... There are five of these isolated cultures in the world, and these people live long, healthy, productive lives, even into very old age, men fathering children after the age of 100. Hunza Valley is one of them... " "I finally succeeded in duplicating the Hunza water minerals and developed a product called Crystal Energy." - Tells Dr. Patrick Flanagan MegaHydrate increases the absorption of water by your body and helps you keep hydrated, eliminating toxins and dangerous metals. So to experiment a full water therapy, try immerse baths and MegaHydrate this way you can enjoy all the best that water can do for you! Remember, your body is made of at least 60 of water, so you must keep it moisturized! Drinking Sea Water The health and appearance of our skin depends on adequate internal water consumption, although sea salt bath treatments applied externally can also improve healing, even of a diseased organ or muscle tissue. Concentrated seawater has been found to be the mildest water to the human body and its higher concentrations of magnesium, sodium, nitrate- nitrogen, iodine, phosphate-phosphorus, and silicate- silicon may have a good influence on human health. As the natural iodine boosts thyroid activity, food fuels are used before they can turn into fatty

deposits, speeding weight loss and helping in cellulite control. Positive effects have been shown in cases of psoriasis and dermatitis, among many others. The American Indians who resided in the Utah area near the Great Salt Lake regularly drank small quantities of the inland sea water. They discovered that this practice enhanced the effect of their herbal remedies. It was based on this folk use that Hartly Anderson set up a company to extract the exceptionally pure and concentrated form of sea water and to market it for health purposes. That was over 30 years ago, and many people testify to the therapeutic properties of these mineral rich waters and the beneficial effects when combined with herb's and other nutrients. The famed Poznan School of medicine in Poland found after years of research that herb's acted synergistically with minerals and vitamins, providing a superior therapeutic modality, than when minerals are not included...

A friend sent me this "Water Therapy" e-mail and I was curious to know who wrote it. I did a search and found it just as it appears below, but the source was unknown. However, the Sanskrit name of the water treatment given in the article leads me to believe it has its source in Ayur-Veda, the traditional medical science of India. (The name given is "Usha (dawn or early morning) Paana (drink or in this case, water) Chikitsa (treatment). Interestingly, my internet search also revealed a somewhat similar modern water therapy put forth by Dr. F. Batmanghelidj who has conducted research and written two books on the subject. I will include some of the information about him, his books, and his research at the end of this e-mail. So read on and see what you think. ----- David ***************************************

He has spent most of his scientific life researching the link between pain and disease and chronic dehydration. Dr. Batmanghelidj discovered the healing powers of water 17 years ago when he was serving time as a political prisoner in an Iranian jail. He successfully treated 3,000 fellow prisoners suffering from stress induced peptic ulcer disease with the only medication he possessed water. This is when he understood for the first time in medical history that the body indicates its water shortage by producing pain. Since his prison experience, he has focused his full time attention on dehydration produced health problems in the body. His discovery has helped hundreds of thousands of people suffering from a variety of pains and degenerative diseases regain their health. Dr. Batmanghelidj has presented his findings at several international and world conferences, and they have been published and peer reviewed in a number of scientific journals. His findings are now available to the public in an easy to understand form in his two books, Your Body's Many Cries for Water, and How to Deal with Back Pain and Rheumatoid Joint Pain, and his video on back pain and audio tape of his lectures. These health education materials have been peer and media reviewed and acclaimed both nationally and internationally. --------------------------------------------------------"Your Body's Many Cries for Water"

new book by Dr. F. Batmanghelidj Dr. Fereydoon Batmanghelidj, 66, was trained at St. Mary's Hospital Medical School in London. His extensive clinical and scientific research shows how the body naturally generates different thirst signals, but that these can be mistaken for symptoms and signs of illness. Recognizing them for what they are, he says, means that we can enjoy better health and avoid costly mistakes. "Since the water we drink provides for cell function and its volume requirements, the decrease in our daily water intake affects the efficiency of cell activity. (...) As a result, chronic dehydration causes symptoms that equal disease when a variety of emergency signals of dehydration are not understood." (p.14) "The human body has a major problem with its normal water regulation, caused by a gradual loss of thirst sensation. This problem is confronted often enough in clinical practice that it does not need explanation. However, the Lancet editorial of 3 November 1984 and the 20 September 1984 article by Paddy Phillips [should] remove any doubt on the issue." (p.140) "Humans seems to lose their thirst sensation and the critical perception of needing water. Not recognizing their need for water, they gradually become increasingly and chronically dehydrated with the progress of age. Further confusion lies in the idea that when we're thirsty, we can substitute tea, coffee, or alcohol containing beverages. This is a common error."(p.14). "Not recognizing the thirst signals of the body will undoubtedly produce complicated problems in the present way of treatment of these conditions. It is all too easy to assume these signals are complications of a serious disease process and begin to treat signal producing dehydration with complicated procedures. Although water by itself will alleviate the condition, medications or invasive diagnostic procedures may be forced on the person. It is the responsibility of both patients and their doctors to be aware

of the damage that chronic dehydration can cause in the human body." (p.18) "These chronic pains include dyspeptic pain, rheumatoid arthritis pain, angina pain (heart pain on walking or even at rest), migraine and hangover headaches, colitis pain and its associated constipation. The "view shift" dictates that all these pains should be treated with a regular adjustment to daily water intake. No less than two and a half quarts (two and one half liters) in 24 hours should be taken for a few days prior to the routine and regular use of analgesics or other pain relieving medications." (p.19) "If the problem has persisted for many years, those who wish to test the pain relieving property of water should make sure their kidneys can make sufficient urine so that they do not retain too much water in the body. Urine output should be measured against water intake. With an increase in water intake, the urine output should also increase." (p.19) How much water? "Your body needs an absolute minimum of six 8 ounce glasses of water a day. [8 ounces is equivalent to app. 2, 25 deciliter] Alcohol, coffee, tea, and caffeine containing beverages don't count as water. The best times to drink water (clinically observed in peptic ulcer disease) are: one glass one half hour before taking food breakfast, lunch, and dinner and a similar amount two and one half hours after each meal. This is the very minimum amount of water your body needs. For the sake of not shortchanging your body, two more glasses of water should be taken around the heaviest meal or before going to bed. Thirst should be satisfied at all times. With increase in water intake, the thirst mechanism becomes more efficient. Your body might then ask you to drink more than the above minimum. Adjusting water intake to mealtimes prevents the blood from becoming concentrated as a result of food intake. When the blood becomes concentrated, it draws water from the cells around it. Water is the cheapest form of medicine to a dehydrated body. (...) There is more natural magic in a glass of water than any medication you are brainwashed to use for the treatment of the conditions I have

explained in this book. And I do not sell water!" (p.127) Salt "Salt is an essential ingredient of the body. In their order of importance, oxygen, water, salt and potassium are the primary elements for the survival of the human body. (...) The precaution to keep in mind is loss of salt from the body when water intake is increased and salt intake is not. After a few days of taking six or eight or ten glasses of water a day, you should begin to think of adding some salt to your diet. If you begin to feel muscle cramps at night, remember you are becoming salt deficient. Cramps in unexercised muscles most often means salt shortage in the body. Also, dizziness and feeling faint might be indicators of salt and water shortage in the body. If such occasions arise, you should also begin to increase your vitamins and minerals intake, including vegetables and fruits for their water soluble vitamin and mineral content. I have developed a rule of thumb for daily salt intake. For each ten glass of water (about two quarts), one should add to the diet about half a teaspoon of salt per day. An average teaspoon can contain six grams of salt." (p.135, 136) --------------------AMAZING SECRETS FOR HEALTH AND WELLNESS Cure # 1: Water prevents and cures heartburn. Heartburn is a signal of water shortage in the upper part of the gastrointestinal tract. It is a major thirst signal of the human body. The use of antacids or tablet medications in the treatment of this pain does not correct dehydration, and the body continues to suffer as a result of its water shortage. Tragedy: Not recognizing heartburn as a sign of dehydration and treating it with antacids and pill medications will, in time, produce inflammation of the stomach, duodenum, hiatal hernia, ulceration, and eventually cancers in the gastrointestinal tract, including the liver and pancreas. Cure # 2: Water prevents and cures arthritis. Rheumatoid Joint Pain Arthritis is a signal of water shortage in the painful joint. It can affect the young as well as the old. The use of painkillers does not cure the problem, but exposes the person to further damage

from pain medications. Intake of water and small amounts of salt will cure this problem. Cure # 3: Water prevents and cures back pain. Low Back Pain and Ankylosing Arthritis of the Spine are signs of water shortage in the spinal column and discs the water cushions that support the weight of the body. These conditions should be treated with increased water intake - not a commercial treatment, but a very effective one. Tragedy: Not recognizing arthritis and low back pain as signs of dehydration in the joint cavities and treating them with painkillers, manipulation, acupuncture, and eventually surgery will, in time, produce osteoarthritis when the cartilage cells in the joints have eventually all died. It will produce deformity of the spine. It will produce crippling deformities of the limbs. Pain medications have their own life threatening complications. Cure # 4: Water prevents and cures angina. Heart Pain Angina is a sign of water shortage in the heart/lung axis. It should be treated with increased water intake until the patient is free of pain and independent of medications. Medical supervision is prudent. However, increased water intake is angina's cure. Cure # 5: Water prevents and cures migraines. Migraine Headache is a sign of water need by the brain and the eyes. It will totally clear up by preventing dehydration from establishing in the body. This particular type of dehydration might eventually cause inflammation of the back of the eye and possibly loss of eye sight. Cure #6: Water prevents and cures colitis. Colitis Pain is a signal of water shortage in the large gut. It is associated with constipation because the large intestine constricts to squeeze the last drop of water from the excrements thus the lack of water lubrication. Tragedy: Not recognizing colitis pain as a sign of dehydration will cause persistent constipation. Later in life, it will cause fecal impacting: it can cause diverticulitis, hemorrhoids, polyps, and appreciably increases the possibility of developing cancers of the colon and rectum. Cure # 7: Water and salt prevents and cures asthma. Asthma,

which also affects 12,000,000 children and kills several thousand of them every year, is a complication of dehydration in the body. It is caused by the drought management programs of the body. Free passage of air is obstructed so that water does not leave the body in the form of vapor, the winter steam. Increased water intake will prevent asthma attacks. Asthmatics need also to take more salt to break the mucus plugs in the lungs which obstruct the free flow of air in and out of the air sacs. Tragedy: Not recognizing asthma as the indicator of dehydration in the body of a growing child not only will sentence many thousands of children to die every year, but will permit irreversible genetic damage to establish in the remaining 12,000,000 asthmatic children.

Cure # 8: Water prevents and cures high blood pressure. Hypertension is a state of adaptation of the body to a generalized drought, when there is not enough water to fill all the blood vessels which diffuse water into vital cells. As part of the mechanism of reverse osmosis, when water from the serum is filtered and injected into important cells through minute holes in their membranes, extra pressure is needed for the "injection process." Just as we inject I.V. "water" in hospitals, so the body injects water into tens of trillions of cells all at the same time. Water and some salt intake will bring blood pressure back to normal! Tragedy: Not recognizing hypertension as one of the major indicators of dehydration in the human body, and treating it with diuretics that further dehydrate the body will, in time, cause blockage by cholesterol of the heart arteries and the arteries that go to the brain. It will cause heart attacks, small and/or massive strokes that paralyze. It will eventually cause kidney diseases. It will cause brain damage and neurological disorders, such as Alzheimer's disease. Cure # 9: Water prevents and cures early adult onset diabetes. Adult Onset Diabetes is another adaptive state to severe dehydration of the human body. To have adequate water in circulation and for the brain's priority water needs, the release of insulin is inhibited to prevent insulin from pushing water into all body cells. In diabetes only some cells get survival rations of

water. Water and some salt will reverse adult onset diabetes in its early stages. Tragedy: Not recognizing adult onset diabetes as a complication of dehydration will, in time, cause massive damage to the blood vessels all over the body. It will cause eventual loss of the toes, feet and legs from gangrene. It will cause eye damage, even blindness. Cure # 10: Water lowers blood cholesterol. High Cholesterol levels are an indicator of early drought management by the body. Cholesterol is a claylike material that is poured in the gaps of some cell membranes to safeguard them from losing their vital water content to the osmotically more powerful blood circulating in their vicinity. Cholesterol, apart from being used to manufacture nerve cell membranes and hormones, is also used as a "shield" against water taxation of other vital cells that would normally exchange water through their cell membranes. Cure # 11: Water Cures Depression, Loss of Libido, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, Lupus, Multiple Sclerosis, Muscular Dystrophy. These conditions are caused by prolonged chronic dehydration. They will clear up once the body becomes well and regularly hydrated. In these conditions, exercising one's muscles should be part of the treatment program. ************************ So here's to your health. Cheers!!! Glug . . . . . . . . . . Glug . . . . . . . . . Glug . . . . .!

As you well know, if you make the blood thicker it has a more difficult time moving through the blood vessels, and this in turn increases your risk of heart attack and stroke. In one study researchers evaluated the water-drinking habits of 34,000 Seventh Day Adventists over a six-year period. They discovered that these individuals dramatically reduced their risk of dying from a heart attack or stroke simply by drinking at least five

glasses of water a day. Increasing fluids other than water didn't have any positive effect whatsoever. (Family Prac News Oct,98:1-2) - Dr. David Williams Health Dispatch September 29, 2003.

In the chapter on the COLON we saw how the standard indigestible American diet packs layer upon layer of plaque onto the inner lining of the colon. One of the prime functions of the colon is to reabsorb water, in order to prevent dehydration. Plaque prevents such a reclamation, and the result is that we lose both water and minerals that normally should be reabsorbed. - Dr. Tim O'Shea From Dr. Robert Jay Rowen's Second Opinion April 2002. Cure Your Hypertension One of the main problems with conventional therapy is it does not address the cause of elevated blood pressure. It just treats the symptoms. Years ago, articles appeared clearly showing the introduction of sodium (salt) into the endothelium (the inner lining of the blood vessels) as the principle factor in the development of hypertension. Salt, and the water it carries, was shown to be a major underlying force in the swelling of the vascular lining, which would require greater pressure (hypertension) to pump blood through the swollen vascular system. And none of the prescription blood pressure pills treats this cause. As I mentioned earlier, there's a simple treatment that's extremely effective, doesn't use drugs, and promises to get millions of people off these destructive pills. In fact, what you are about to read is so deadly to the establishment, that despite its incredibly profound truth and faultless methodology, major medical journals refused to publish this data. Why? Because it would cost the drug companies, which advertise in these journals, billions of dollars. And that's no exaggeration! Alan Gold hammer, DC of True North Health, in Rohnert Park, California, took in 174 self-referred adults, each admitted for in-

patient care of hypertension and other problems over a 12-year period from 1985-1997. In order to participate in the study, patients had to have a systolic BP of at least 140, and a diastolic BP of at least 90, or both. The initial BP average for the group was 159.1/89.2 and the average weight was 78.4kg (approximately 210 lbs) with body mass index of 29. The water-only fast was administered for periods ranging from four to 28 days. The only intake was distilled water (minimum of 40 ox daily). The patients' physical activity was limited; as it can cause significant energy expenditure (this can be dangerous without food to replace the lost energy). Electrolytes and other blood parameters were also carefully monitored, and researchers followed all accepted protocols for fasting. The results of this study were nothing less than phenomenal! The average BP of the group dropped to 127.4/77.7 and to an astounding 121.9/75.7 after the physicians slowly re-introduced food. At the same time, body weight dropped an average of 12.1 pounds, and body mass index dropped from 28.7 to 26.5. The biggest surprise was that the worst cases of hypertension actually saw the biggest reductions in their BP! The worse the hypertension, the greater the correction. An amazing 89 percent of the subjects became normal! The final average BP of the entire group was 117.5/78.7. All patients on anti-hypertensive medication at the onset of the treatments were off their drugs by the conclusion of the fast! You would think that hunger would be a major problem for the patients, but after the second or third day, your body naturally dulls the hunger sensation. And even better, there were no complications reported at any time in the study except for occasional mild nausea and temporary low blood pressure. At the time of the published report, the researchers had followed up on 42 of the 174 original subjects over a period of 27 weeks after discharge. The average BP was 123/77 in these 42, suggesting these results are either permanent or sustainable for many months.

Folks, you don't have to be a rocket scientist to see why several big-time medical journals refused publication of this data. It strikes a silver stake into the heart of all the pharmaceutical precepts of hypertension treatment. This therapy is so effective, it more than doubled the results of our best therapy to date, and fixed the problem at the source! Dr. Gold hammer adds that those individuals who have adhered to a vegan follow-up diet have remained free from hypertension for as long as he has followed them. He feels that the addition of small amounts of fresh fish or fowl, up to three ounces twice a week, does not have any adverse effects in the maintenance of normal blood pressure, once corrected. I think you could probably add a few ounces of grass-fed beef, as well. Action to Take (1) I do believe in fasting, having repeatedly seen dramatic results over many years. However, I do not; under any circumstances recommend a lengthy (more than one day), unsupervised water fast. I've watched people do fresh juice fasting with ease and never a problem, often for two or three weeks. Juices contain minerals and vitamins, which sharply reduce mineral imbalances, which could occur during a prolonged water fast. A terrific book on the subject is How to Keep Slim, Healthy, and Young with Juice Fasting by Paavo Airola. (2) If your blood pressure is higher than 160/100, I suggest a supervised water fast, such as the program run by the study's authors or those well trained in water fasting. I will admit, a water fast does not sound pleasant. However, the thought of hypertension complications is far less appealing. (3) If fasting causes your blood pressure to drop, make sure you work with your doctor to reduce your drug dependence. (4) If you don't currently suffer from high blood pressure, a periodic one-day juice fast will help prevent this deadly problem. Once or twice a month should be plenty. I also think simply adding more water to your diet will help considerably. Hypertension is not a lifetime disease, as the medical pundits would have you believe. It's a reversible disorder, brought on by

a bad diet, lack of exercise, stress, and a modern "civilized" lifestyle. There are many other treatments you can add to this therapy to further ensure your health. I'll be reporting on these in future issues. Excess Salt and the Kidneys The above article regarding using water fast to remove excessive sodium from the tissues thereby relieving hypertension highlights the problem our kidneys have when we consume too much salt. To further understand the situation we draw upon the information found at http://www.luminet.net/~wenonah/riddick/chap22.htm TABLE NO. 24 Range 1.) Water Input, Liquid + 1.53.0 Average (say) 2.0

Foodstuffs (liters) a) Drink, about 50% b) Food, about 50% 2.) Water Output, liters a) Insensible and vaporization b) Urine 1.01.20 0.80 1.00 1.1 0.9 Ave. 2.0 3.) Input and output of Mineral Salts a) Sodium Chloride b) Potassium (as chloride) c) Miscellaneous-say 514.5 3.711.2 9.7 7.4 0.9 Total 18.0 The above table suggests that the average person consumes about 2 liters of water a day, with half of this coming from drink and the other half from food. What happens to this water? The next section of the table suggests that about half (1 liter) disappears in the sweat and out the lungs, while the other half (about 1 liter) is excreted in the urine. What would happen if a person drank an extra liter of water daily? Assuming that the water lost via the sweat and lungs is relatively constant; ALL of the extra fluid consumed will be excreted via the urine. The amount of water removed from the body via the kidneys and bladder is doubled. This is very significant to the kidneys as we shall see. 1.0 1.0

The third section of the table considers mineral salts. The main mineral salt we consume is sodium chloride (table salt) closely followed by potassium which is found in fruits and vegetables and their juices. (It is important to the body that sodium and potassium be consumed in the appropriate balance.) If the body requires the minerals then there is no problem. If the minerals are surplus to the needs of the body, as is the case with excess sodium chloride in the "Cure Your Hypertension" article above, then the surplus mineral salts need to be removed from the body by the kidneys. When the kidneys are filtering mineral salts out of the blood they create a concentration gradient. The concentration of mineral salts within the kidneys is greater than the concentration in the blood. This concentration gradient is opposed by osmotic pressure that wants to equalize the concentration of mineral salts on both sides of the kidney membrane. The more salt the kidneys must remove from the blood, the greater the concentration of salt within the kidneys and the greater the concentration gradient between the inside of the kidneys and the blood. When the concentration of salt within the kidneys is double that of the blood the concentration gradient is 1:2. It might even get as high as 1:3. As the concentration gradient increases, the kidneys need to work harder and harder to overcome osmotic pressure. Eventually the kidneys reach a limit where they can increase the concentration gradient no further. What happens then? As we saw in the article "Cure Your Hypertension", the excess salt moves into other tissues and causes problems there. What happens if we drink more water? As shown in the table above, drinking an extra litre of water will DOUBLE urine output. This reduces the salt concentration gradient within the kidneys by HALF. With a lower concentration gradient the kidneys will be able to extract more surplus salt from the blood, eventually allowing the tissues to be cleansed. (Increasing the zeta potential should also help cleanse the tissues). So if there are excess mineral salts and other substances stored in the body that the kidneys should be able to remove, this

analysis suggests a reason why it is there and how it can be dealt with. Our choices are: stop eating so much of the offending substance, drink more water, and raise our zeta potential or all three. *** Cancer patients generally have too much sodium relative to potassium. The above articles indicate why the body may contain too much sodium and how it can be removed. Drinking more fluids may help restore a proper sodium/potassium balance in the body, which is highly beneficial to cancer patients. *** Healthy Oils for Healthy Kidneys The fine filter systems in the kidneys consist of extremely thin membranes. To function properly these membranes need a healthy balance of omega 3 and omega 6 fatty acids plus saturated fats such as are found in coconut oil. See "Saturated Fats and the Kidneys".
