: Wavelet Based Image Compression Using SPIHT Algorithm (8th SEM) : Image Processing. :4 : 4 month [January 2010 April 2010] : In this project we present the well known algorithm of Pearlman SPIHT to restrict the necessity of random access to the whole image to a small sub images only. The compression performance is measured with PSNR compared to the original codec remains still the same or nearly the same. This code can be implemented through MATLAB.
