Local Businesses Awarded City Manager Appoints for Proactive Recycling & New Fire Chief (Napa, CA) Longtime Waste Reduction Napa firefighter Mike
(Napa, CA) Twenty-two local organizations were recognized for their outstanding waste reduction and recycling practices at the Sixth Annual Recycling Awards on Wednesday, May 23, 2012 at the Embassy Suites. Mayor Jill Techel was on hand to present the awards to the City organizations, and Supervisor Keith Caldwell presented the awards to Napa County recipients. The City awards winners were selected based on a combination of 1) field surveys that measure the amount of non-recyclable trash in the recycling bins as well as recyclables in the trash, and 2) undertaking proactive recycling and waste reduction efforts. The winners are among the best in the City in maximizing their recycling and preventing recyclables from going out in the trash and ultimately to a landfill. For example, the Oxbow Public Market was recognized for its model waste station set-up that helps maximize recycling

company, it is imperative to us that we protect and contribute to the communities where our employees, customers and industry peers live and work. The new system currently processes between 70,000-100,000 gallons of water daily with a capacity to process up to 250,000 gallons per day. The processed water can be used for crush pad clean up, refrigeration cooling systems, and other uses. The treated water not only exceeds required standards, and provides reusable water, but creates a natural habitat for wildlife, Kevin LeMasters, TFEs Vice President of Operations commented. In the processed water ponds, we have six species of new birds, frogs, geese, and a new family of baby ducks, which is a testament to the water quality. In the water treatment system, in addition to the environmental benefits, TFEs investment of over $2 million will result in significant cost savings in areas such as energy efficiency with aeration reduction, and less sludge removal. Just since Septembers installation, the winery has reduced its electricity costs by more than $27,000. TFE recently hired a dedicated environmental resource coordinator, Diana Ortiz, who will help maximize the benefits of the water treatment system and allow TFE to expand its commitment to other sustainable efforts. Trinchero has been really proactive at cleaning the waste water at their facilities, which is good for the community of Napa Valley and our environment. Sheldon Sapoznik, Napa Countys Land Use Development Supervisor noted, TFEs new system is unique and effective - we hope this will set an example for other companies to follow. The system was installed by Lyve Systems Inc. which has offices in Northern California, and is head quartered in New Zealand. To learn more visit: http://www.lyvesystems.com

Napa, CA June 21, 2012 Trinchero Family Estates (TFE), the Napa Valley-based, a leading family-owned wine company known for its distinct brands such as Trinchero Napa Valley, Mnage Trois, Napa Cellars, and Sutter Home, announced the successful implementation of a new process wastewater treatment center in St. Helena. The system processes the winerys wastewater into reusable clean water, one of Californias most important limited natural resources. TFE began the installation process of the wastewater treatment system less than one year ago and went live in September, 2011. The system is located at the Sutter Home Winery Main Street facility, where TFE produces Sutter Home wines, as well as Napa Cellars, Menage a Trois, SeaGlass, Trinity Oaks, and The Wine Cube. The process wastewater treatment system is an example of the commitment of the Trinchero Family stewards of the environment in Napa since 1948. said Bob Torkelson, President and COO of TFE. As a

Sentiment Analysis: The process of determining how the people who talk about your brand on social media actually feel about your brand, products, or company. Why You Should Care: Although P.T. Barnum famously said, All publicity is good publicity, its an obvious problem if your brand is consistently being trashed on social media. Also, if the sentiment is mostly neutral, that could be a sign your marketing is not making a big enough impact, and no one cares enough to have a strong opinion either positively or negatively. 6. done, this data may not surprise some of you. After all, research from Morgan Stanley indicates that 91% of those surveyed have their mobile phone within reach 24/7. Even so, it gives you some insight into how people are using smartphones as more than just a stand-alone device instead, theyre using it as a utility to enhance their existing behavior. What do I mean by that? I mean that smartphones are more than just passive devices used for inbound texts and calls. Theyre actually becoming part of our daily existence. In other words, smartphones are becoming allencompassing utilities that augment our existence and are as much a part of our lives as our wallets, our eyeglasses or our shoes.
