The overall aim of the Course is to give graduates sufficient understanding of the construction of buildings to enable them to play an effective role when working with other construction disciplines in the design and construction of commercial buildings. The structure of each unit is designed to give students a basic understanding of the technological theory associated with specific elements of a building. This Course outlines the theory and utilization of electrical power in buildings. It aims to provide an overview of ac systems, provide an insight into the design of electrical distribution systems, illustrate a systematic approach to circuit design and provide an insight into regulation and protection The course will introduce basic concepts of acoustics to students, give an overview of environmental noise (sound propagation outdoors), provide an understanding of the theories used in building acoustics (including room acoustics, sound insulation, duct-borne noise and vibration isolation) and make students familiar with the application of the above theories for noise control solutions. The aim of this Course is to introduce students to the essential features associated with the design and operation of the full range of comfort air conditioning systems provided within buildings. This Course will allow students to confidently and competently deal with a substantial range of complex academic problems. The course will provide the student with an understanding of the concepts and practices of construction project management used to provide value added services to clients. The course among other things, develops understanding of the issues related to the management of construction clients and other project stakeholders and how their needs can be coordinated, managed and delivered from the projects design stage through production to occupation and maintenance. The Aims of the Course are to introduce students to the use of natural and electric lighting in buildings, to provide an awareness of the main design issues, to highlight aspects of lighting control energy use and to provide an insight into a range of lighting applications through the use of case studies. The course will introduce the concept of energy management in buildings for energy efficiency and sustainability., give students the tools necessary to carry out energy audits, to advise on potential energy saving measures, and to assess the effectiveness of energy efficiency measures, including low and zero carbon technologies (LZCT). The aims of this Course involve providing a framework for producing briefs for space layouts, identify the supply and demand process in relation to property portfolios, understand the relationship between services, structure and space, consider tools and techniques that enable the effective modeling and use of space.

Contracts and Procurement The course will help students understand advanced procurement practices, the situations in which their use is appropriate and the contractual principles upon which they are based, introduce students to the mechanisms used by a typical standard for of construction contract (from the JCT05 suite) to control the risk exposure arising form the liabilities of contracting parties created by the contract and common law. Class Structure
Sundays between the hours of 9:00 AM and 4:00 P.M. A detailed timetable will be provided at the start of every term. Lectures in the BSc Construction Project Management Programmes will be held on weekdays between the hours of 5:30 P.M. to 8:30 P.M or on Sundays (depending on the number of registrants) from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. For the MSc degrees, lectures are held on Saturdays and The lectures will focus on the review, discussion and practical application of key concepts and material. This learning style is designed to deepen the knowledge of an area by encouraging a criticalthinking approach revolving around an understanding of the material, rather than a detailed rote-learning regurgitation of the syllabus. Entry Requirements and Registration Deadlines


As previously indicated, the programmes have tuition start-dates of January and June each year (registration deadline November 30, and and July 31 respectively). Students are encouraged to sit four modules each term. Barring exemptions and re-sits, the total delivery period is then a minimum of 1 year for the BSc programme and 1 1/2 years for the MSc programmes. The normal entry requirements for the BSc programme is a construction-related Diploma or comparable qualification at NVQ Level IV. Persons with an unapproved Diploma will be required to complete the 3-month Certificate in Construction available at B&B from September-December each year. Candidates should submit their qualification for assessment For the MSc the requirements are a honours degree in relevant discipline and/or equivalent qualifications that will be considered on an individual basis. Persons without a degree but with over 5 years relevant professional level work experience and qualifications may enter the MSc under the Mature Student Entry Route a

As at April 1 2012, the BSc programme is being offered for $65,000.00 per module. This is subject to change in the future along with movements in the inflation and exchange rate. For the MSc/Post Graduate Diploma, the cost is $125,000 per taught module. This is also subject to change. The total amount paid per term would vary according to the number of modules taken. There is also a one-time registration charge of 50.00 for new entrants to the BSc and MSc. Conditions of Enrolment
The offering of courses will require B&B to enter into commitments for future expenses for the period of the programme aimed at satisfying possible student needs. Registration for such courses followed by attendance at or participation in classes will therefore be taken as an implicit agreement of the student to remain in the programme for the duration of the period so as to enable the Institute to meet these commitments entered into on their behalf, and will be interpreted as the provision of an instruction to the Institution to establish these commitments.

Cancellation of Courses
The withdrawal of the student from the programme will jeopardize the ability of the Institution to meet these commitments, and in so doing negatively affect its relationship with other students. As such, withdrawal will only be allowed upon the provision to the Programme Coordinator of a satisfactory explanation of the reason for withdrawal, and the acceptance of such. Verifiable cases of financial difficulty, family/personal problems, health issues, work-related difficulties, and poor academic performance will be accepted as valid reasons for withdrawal. Other cases will be subject to deliberation before acceptance. Once the withdrawal is accepted, the withdrawal procedure will then follow the established guidelines of the Awarding Body offering the qualification (if applicable). The student will have the right to present his/her case to the Awarding Body for a binding determination to be made in the event that B&B refuses to accept the reasons for withdrawal. Students are hereby advised that their registration for courses and the subsequent attendance at or participation in classes will give B&B Institute the right to have recourse by any means necessary for expenses suffered, up to the amount of the commitment that was made based on the understanding that they would remain in the course. This right may be waived based on the joint agreement of the Programme Coordinator and Executive Director/Principal of B&B. The right will also be waived if withdrawal is made before tuition begins.

Refunds
Students who withdraw from a programme before instruction begins will be refunded the full amount of all sums paid to the Institution, with the exception of the applicable registration fee. Refunds for students who withdraw from a programme of study after instruction begins and up to one month after the start of the programme are subject to the joint agreement of the Programme Coordinator and the Executive Director/Principal of B&B Institute. If the refund is granted, a portion of fees paid will be withheld to cover expenses suffered up to the date of withdrawal. The same policy of partial refund upon joint agreement of the validity of the same and acceptance of such will be applicable to students who register for a course but do not attend/participate in classes. Refunds will not be given for requests for withdrawals made more than one month after tuition has begun.

Availability of Courses
The Institute reserves the right to postpone or cancel any of its advertised courses for reasons such as the unavailability of a lecturer/tutor or a lack of sufficient student numbers. In this event, B&B Institute of Business will refund all fees already paid towards the withdrawn course.
