Wiring/Mounting Instructions:

See illustration on adjacent page for wiring information: 1.) The Olympus 16X includes a PCB board (hardware) with a steel cover, 15 ft. of USB cable, the software on a USB flash drive and the 2-3x switch panel. The PCB board has 16, 20 amp relay inputs on the power supply unit. Each relay input is controlled from the software interface, which is located on the provided USB flash drive. Determine the products that will be installed into the Olympus 16X, before beginning installation. All selected products must be grounded. 2.) Determine where the hardware (PCB board) will be mounted in the interior of the vehicle. Make sure the area is not exposed to water or high levels of humidity. Mark the spot for the installation holes, and drill the holes on the selected mounting surface, making sure no vital components of the vehicle or mounting surface are damaged or affected. 3.) Secure the base to the mounting surface. 4.) Remove the protective steel cover from the PCB board to begin wiring the unit. 5.) Proceed to extend the positive (+) and ground (-) terminals respectively to the battery. Using standard 18-20 gauge cable, connect the positive (labeled +12V on the board) terminal to the positive end of the battery. Extend the ground (labeled GND on the board) to the (-) terminal of the vehicle battery. 6.) Then connect the fail safe ports (labeled M1, M2, and M3 on the board) to any three switches to control the programmable memory buttons that are located within the software interface. The M1 labeled relay port controls the first memory option; the M2 labeled relay port controls the second memory option; and the M3 labeled relay port controls the third memory button. The 2-3x switch panel is provided if current switches are not located in your console. Connecting the fail safe ports to switches in the vehicle console is essential. This is a fail safe option that allows for control or lighting and vehicle equipment despite a computer crash. 7.) With the 16 relay inputs, there are three labels on the board for each. An arrow-in symbol ( ), an arrow-out symbol ( ), and an X symbol. The X symbol is a dead port. The Arrow in symbol is where a 12V constant current must be applied. Using a 12-20 gauge (depending on product amp draw) connect the positive end of the battery into the relay (arrow in) port. Using a 2 mm flat head, screw the wire down into the port to secure it. 8.) Using a 12-20 gauge (depending on product amp draw) connect the 12V (+) cable from the desired product(s) into the arrow out relay port. Using a 2 mm flat head, secure the wire to the port. 9.) Repeat steps 4 and 5 for the next 2-15 relay ports. 10.) After wiring in all relay ports, use the provided 15 ft USB connector cable to link to the computer system to the USB port on the board. 11.) Place the protective, steel cover back on top of the board and use the provided hardware to secure the cover to the base. 12.) Connect the USB flash drive provided to the computer system and download the software and drivers. To learn how to operate the software system, click on Set-Up tab on the software and click help.
