MINNESOTA: LEADING THE WORLD

Minnesota is poised to become a global leader in supplying critical and strategic metals, such as copper and nickel, that are essential to our way of life.
This is an exciting opportunityone that will create thousands of jobs for Minnesotans and generate tens of millions of dollars in tax revenue annually. And, with modern mining and processing technology and some of the strongest regulatory standards in the world, we will do it in a way that is environmentally responsible. Currently, the U.S. imports signicant amounts of these metals, supporting nations whose mining practices not only may harm their local environments, but also that of other countries, including our own. We can start changing that by setting the standard for environmentally responsible mining and supplying the raw materials we depend onright here in Minnesota.
