Below are the CRANDIC Bylaws regarding the format for the Sophomore Metro Tournament: a. Shall be held on the Thursday and Saturday of NFHS Week 2 b. Format will consist of Thursday play having 3 pools of 3 teams and playing a round robin within each pool. Suggested start times of 9am, 11am and 1pm. c. Pools will be determined by the records (based on winning %) as of July 4th. i) Pool A will have seed 1, seed 6 and seed 7 ii) Pool B will have seed 2, seed 5 and seed 8 iii) Pool C will have seed 3, seed 4 and seek 9 d. Tie breaker for opening pools and Championship pool will be as follows: i) Fewest runs allowed ii) If 2 teams are tied based on (i) then the head to head score will break the tie e. Saturday play. The 3 pool winners as determined in item (d) advance to Saturday bracket play. Plus the top remaining team also advances. The 4th team is determined by the following priorities. i) pool record ii) head to head (If two teams in a pool finish with the same record head to head will eliminate one of those teams from consideration) iii) fewest runs allowed iv) highest seed Saturday Bracket play Game 1: team 1 vs. team 4 Game 2: team 2 vs. team 3 Game 3: Championship, winners of game 1 and game 2 Seeding for the Bracket play follows the same criteria outlined earlier in this section (Note: the 3 pool winners must be teams 1-3, the 4th team is a runner-up from pool play regardless of record) f. All Games will be 6-inning games g. Mercy Rule-NFHS run differential rules will be used. g. Host school (as determined by the CRANDIC chart) will be guaranteed to host one of the 3 sites and will host the Saturday Championship Pool. The Host school will hire all umpires for the entire tournament. Other Thursday sites will submit their gate receipts to the Host school for reimbursement in umpire charges.

Each team is to provide 3 balls prior to the contest and if extras are needed they are to share equally the responsibility for game balls. Each Host is responsible for taking tickets and all gate receipts minus expenses should be sent to Kennedy High School. Ticket prices are: $5.00 adults - $4.00 seniors/students.
