There may be situations where additional specific precautionary measures may need to be included. If they are minor, they can be included in the comment section on this Safe Method of Work Statement. Where major changes are needed, a separate specific Safe Method of Work Statement should be produced, with particular regard to sub-contracting works and special Client requirements. INDUCTION No persons are allowed to work on the site until they have received Site Safety Induction by Project Manager. Induction to include the following: - Emergency Evacuation Procedures, Fire Prevention, EVLO LTD Contracts Ltd Safety Policy and Site Rules, the Clients Safety Rules and Policy, the Risk Assessment and Safe Method of Work Statement for the job. DESCRIPTION OF RESPONSIBILITIES AND ROLES (Include Accident reporting) Project Manager: Site Supervisor: Tam Leader: Contractors: INFORMATION Service drawings, engineering calculations and other information are to be studied by the Site Supervisor and Team Leader and operatives who will be carrying out the work, before commencement. ASSESSMENT OF RISKS A Risk Assessment has been produced to ensure that all risks are fully evaluated and appropriate precautionary measures to minimise risks are incorporated into the Method of Work. The Risk Assessment considers all persons who could be at potential risk from the works, e.g. employees, sub-contractors, Clients employees, occupiers and the general public etc. This assessment includes COSHH, noise, manual handling, electrical safety etc CDM REGULATIONS In accordance with these Regulations, EVLO LTD Contracts Ltd will support the Principal Contractor in providing safety information for inclusion in their Health and Safety Plan as and when requested. Information for the Safety File must be maintained by the Companys Project Team and handed over to the Client at the end of the Contract with all relevant Health and Safety information that may be useful to the end user. SAFETY MANAGEMENT The site works are to be audited by the Companys Health & Safety Consultants on a regular basis. If the safety standards prove to be inadequate, the frequency of visits

The daily safety management of work is the responsibility of the Site Manager and Construction Manager. PHASING AND SCHEDULING OF THE WORKS Considerations and adequate provisions are to be given in the overall programme for the phasing of the works to avoid or minimise foreseeable risks that have been identified. Programme segregation and timing of trades are to be considered where necessary, to prevent cross contamination of risks. The Companys Project Team is to submit a detailed schedule for the work to include the phasing of design and other matters associated with planning the works for inclusion in the Safety Plan where required. CORDONING-OFF OR DEMARCATION OF WORKING AREAS SECURE THE AREA Ensure occupants are informed on a regular basis of the current days works. Areas, which could pose a danger to residents, are to be adequately cordoned off with physical barriers. Safety Signage: When demarcating or cordoning-off a working area, all appropriate safety signage will be displayed.
PROTECTING PERSONS FROM FALLING Due to the constricted working area, stepladders of industrial class 1 standard will be used for occasional work at height. Evlo Ltd will ensure that all personnel have been trained in the safe set-up and use of stepladders.

Evlo Ltd Site Manager will check that the equipment is in good condition prior to commencing work. Evlo Ltd Operatives at the commencement of each work shift will carry out a pre use check to ensure that the equipment is still in good condition i.e. check conditions of leads, plugs and casing. COSHH Evlo Ltd Management will ensure that personnel have been briefed on the COSHH requirements for all substances being used within residents properties and the control measures. HOT WORKS Prior to hot works commencing personnel will obtain a hot works permit from the site supervisor who will survey the hot work area prior to the issue of the permit to ensure that adequate fire prevention controls are in place. Fire extinguishers will be in place at the hot work area at all times. Prior to hot works commencing all loose combustible materials will be removed from the hot works areas. Prior to hot works commencing all fixed combustible materials will be wetted down and protected with flameproof material. All hot works will cease at least one hour prior to the end of the working shift and a fire watch put in place. At the end of the fire watch period, the site supervisor will sign and close off the hot work permit. COMMISSIONING Prior to commissioning all newly installed pipe work will be tested to identify any potential leaks. Commissioning of electrical circuits will be by competent electricians to the 17th edition of IIE regulations 17th edition electrical test certificates will be issued to the client on successful completion of the Installation. OPERATIVES PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT All Site Personnel will wear all appropriate protective clothing and equipment as and when required. Site specific standard PP requirements: -Safety footwear with steel cap toe protection. High visibility clothing Safety helmets. OCCUPIED PREMISES Evlo Ltd Contracts Site Manager / Supervisor will have regular meetings with the clients Project Manager & Residents Liaison Officer. All works and required access to Residents properties will be advised in advance as agreed with the client. Special regard will be given to the residents who are elderly, handicapped, whose comprehension of the English language is poor, or there are children present. All communal access routes and residents passageways will be kept free of materials, tools, equipment and waste at all times. The Resident Liaison Officer will ensure that Residents internal areas will be cleared of curtains & personal belongings to allow execution of the works. Evlo Ltd Site Manager/Supervisor will ensure that an Occupied Premises Check Sheet is completed at the start and end of the working shift.

SEQUENCE OF WORKS General Arrangement (a) Upon arrival to site Personnel will report to Site Office and sign in. (b) Evlo Ltd Site Supervisor will contact the Project Manager who will arrange for Personnel to have Site Safety Induction. (c) Evlo Ltd Site supervisor will familiarise himself with the scope of works agreed with the client for the residents property. (d) Evlo Ltd Site Manager will ensure prior to commencing works that his Personnel have been briefed on the content of the task Risk Assessment / COSHH Assessments, and Method Statement and attendance recorded. (e) Evlo Ltd Site Manager will ensure that the Occupied Premises check sheet is completed prior to commencing and finishing works on a daily basis. (f) Personnel will move tools, equipment and materials up the internal staircase (g) Personnel will put down protective dustsheets at the internal window repair working areas within residents property ensuring they are laid flat and not causing a tripping hazard.
