1. SOUNDTRACK OF OUR LIVES

Music is what feelings sound like. It is not just a melody or harmony, thus it is your own
experience, your thoughts, your wisdom. It expresses feeling and thought, without language; it was below and before speech, and it is above and beyond all words.

Music is the universal language that everyone understands and can relate to. Music is what brings everything together. It is something that everyone knows. Music is art. It is the greatest form of art that allows a human to take boring notes on a page, and transform them into an emotion and feeling you cannot measure.

2. Common Genres a) Classical Music: Classical music is a complex form of music as it requires high
musical skills, like learning the ragas and ability to coordinate with other musicians. One has to maintain the complex relationship between its emotional flows

b) Rock Music: This music genre originated in the rock and roll era of 1950s. The vocals
are accompanied by guitar, drum and bass. Certain rock groups also use piano, synthesizer, saxophone, flute, mandolin and sitar for a deeper effect.

c) Trance Music: This type of music is usually played in club houses and discotheques.
This music is characterized by fast tempo and repetitious beats of the percussion. It has a hypnotic effect on the souls of listeners.

d) Jazz: This type of music is featured by strong and complex rhythms. The main
musical instruments used for jazz music are cornet, trumpet or violin, that help carry the melody. This is a rhythmic music and has a forward momentum called "swing".

e) Hip-hop Music: Hip-hop music always includes the use of instruments such as guitar,
violin, fiddle, piano, bass and drums. In these types of music, the bass is the main instrument. This can be used in different intensities to emote feelings of anger, pride and others.

f)

Opera Music: Opera music first emerged in Italy in the 1600s. This genre has a remarkable combination of theatrical art and musical invention and is specifically played in the theaters. This has greater appeal for its delightful orchestral accompaniment. The preludes and interludes of this music set the tone for the action on-stage.

Studies have shown that certain types of rock music can intensify emotions. What this means is that youth and teens who are predisposed to negative, violent, or depressive thoughts are more likely to have these feelings (and act on them). By the same accord, children who are naturally happy and cheerful are less likely to have the negative lyrics in certain songs affect them in any way. To them, it's just entertainment.

3. Importance of Music a) Music helps the mind to develop and grow. Music actually improves communication between the right and left sides of the
brain, allowing you to gain better comprehension and memorization skills.

b) The function of music is to release us from the tyranny of conscious thought. One of the most gratifying aspects of music is to connect individuals no matter where they are
in life. ..

4. Music of Today

WHAT WE THINK? + HOW WE FEEL? = WHAT WE DO?

Some scientists conclude that musics influence over us may be a chance event, arising from its ability to hijack brain systems built for other purposes such as language, emotion and movement. Music seems to offer a novel method of communication rooted in emotions rather than in meaning. Research shows that what we feel when we hear a piece of music is remarkably similar to what everybody else in the room is experiencing. Songs facilitate emotional bonding and even physical interactions such as marching or dancing together and thus may help cement ties that underlie the formation of human societies. In addition, tunes may work to our benefit on an individual level, manipulating mood and even human physiology more effectively than words can.

5. Singers of This Generation and How They value music in their life. a) Taylor Swift- Music has always to be in my day. Theres just nothing without music. It is important- it gives us a way to say how we feel, because sometimes were just so confused and we have no idea what were thinking unless someone sings it perfectly for us. And thats the special thing when that song became our favourite song, a part of our life. b) Justin Bieber-
