Aero space is delivering greater accuracy as well as being a valuable space saver.Bas ed at Dublin Airport, Dublin Aerospace provides a range of maintenance services for the aviation sector. Oadby, Leicester, UK, July 05, 2012 -- A Striebig vertical panel saw bought by a ircraft maintenance company Dublin Aerospace is delivering greater accuracy as w ell as being a valuable space saver.Based at Dublin Airport, Dublin Aerospace pr ovides a range of maintenance services for the aviation sector. These include wi de and narrow body hanger maintenance for Airbus and Boeing aircraft operated by a variety of airlines. The Striebig Compact is used for cutting composite panels up to 1cm thick that a re used in the repair of floor panels in aircrafts freight holds and passenger ca bins. A vertical panel saw it replaced a flat bed saw when Dublin Aerospace rece ntly enlarged its Composite section. The company decided it needed a saw that of fered greater reliability and did not take up so much workshop space. We looked at a few different makes but eventually opted for the Striebig, largely on the recommendation of our experienced operators in the section who had exper ience of using them at other companies, said Dublin Aerospaces head of base mainte nance Liam Boland. A Compact 5207 model was chosen because of its convenient size and its ability t o accommodate easily the 12 x 6ft composite panels that are used. With a cutting range of 4600 x 2070mm together with a cutting depth of 60mm, the Compact combi nes a high-quality build with unmatched reliability. It was supplied with an opt ional scoring blade to prevent the composite panel edges from tearing out during sizing. The manually operated 5207 is one of nine models in the Striebig Compact entry-l evel series, with a cutting range from 3100 x 1644mm up to 5350 x 2200mm. An aut omatic feed series, the Compact AV, is also available. It was not the cheapest vertical panel saw that we looked at but it offered the b est solution for our needs due to the guaranteed accuracy it provides and its s pace saving construction, said Mr Boland. We are very happy with it as its reliable and very easy for our operators to work with. Because the blade moves instead o f the panel, which was not the case with the flat bed saw, once a panel has been placed in position on the machines bed it cannot move, which is preventing any m iscuts during our sizing operations. The Compact was supplied by Striebigs exclusive UK distributor T.M. Machinery Sal es, of Leicester. Installation was carried out by its sub-agent T.I. Machinery, of Newtownards, Co. Down, which looks after sales and maintenance in the Republi c as well as in Northern Ireland. Striebig vertical panel saws will be demonstrated by T.M. Machinery Sales on Sta nd B245, Hall 8, at the W12 exhibition at the NEC, Birmingham in October. Contact : Matt Pearce T.M.
