For some reason long ago, people started spreading the poor advise to others with foot problems to soak their feet in hot water, with or without some soaking additive. This is definitely WRONG. Never soak your feet in hot water. Even some whirlpools and spas are too hot for safety. Hot water can cause a dilation of the blood vessels allowing blood clots to move if present. This could result in a stroke or heart attack. Hot water will also cause continued swelling of foot or ankle resulting in continued pain of the foot, ankle or toes. Usually swelling will respond to cool or cold treatments, but if you are a diabetic or have poor circulation, you should see a Podiatrist before doing anything.

Milwaukee Recreation offering Cool Spots, wading pools on hot days

On weekdays when the temperature is predicted to be above 85 degrees (or when the city issues a heat advisory), the Milwaukee Department of Public Works attaches industrialstrength sprinklers to the fire hydrants at seven Milwaukee Recreation playgrounds. This is known as Milwaukees Cool Spots program. Seven outdoor wading pools provide additional relief from the summer heat. The public is encouraged to call Milwaukee Recreation at (414) 475-8811 for more information. The following playgrounds are Cool Spot locations: Auer Avenue (2221 W. Auer Avenue), Carmen (7320 W. Carmen), Columbia (1354 W. Columbia St.); Green Bay (3872 N. 8th St.); Franklin Square (2643 N. 13th St.), and Gwen T. Jackson (2121 W. Hadley St.), Starms Discovery (2035 N. 25th St.). The Cool Spots will open from 1 to 6 p.m. on hot weather weekdays through Aug. 10. The program, designed for children aged 617, is a partnership between Milwaukee Recreation, the city of Milwaukee, and the Milwaukee Fire Department. Comfort Keepers provides home hospice support for 100-year-old client

When Evelyn was in the hospital and diagnosed with health failures, it was her choice to return home to the place she lived and loved. Vitas Hospice recommended Comfort Keepers for live-in supportive care. The staff at Comfort Keepers wondered if the 100-yearold senior would accept Tony, one of its male live-in caregivers. When Evelyn agreed to give it a try, owners Shannon and Gina Meller found Tony and Evelyn to be a great match. When Evelyn came home, she was not eating and life looked dim. Brake Press, Program, Setup and Operate ~~ 1st and 2nd Shift ~~ Set up and operated press brake Large, metal fabrication medium to heavy plate steel. Prefer strong setup and print reading skills, will consider a strong operator. Ability to produce quality products. Quality Engineer ~~ Candidates will have 3-5 years Quality Assurance experience. Training and experience with ISO-9001 ~ Root Cause / Corrective Actions a plus. Skills with communicating effectively with a variety of manufacturing and support personnel. Knowledge with standard computer software and data analysis (Experience with Unipoint program a plus)
