LIB TECH Snowboards

The Construction and technologies that go into the most popular and Eco friendly snowboards in the industry.

History
Every Lib Tech has the collective energy of twenty plus years of board design refinement and experience from riders, artists, designers, and craftsmen built in. Each banana is filled with life energy: passionate art, technology theorized and tested beyond its limits, nurtured wood cores milled to exact specifications, mathematically balanced hand laminated composites, each expertly finished with care in an ecologically designed factory built with future generations in mind. The merging of human spirit with an inanimate banana naturally actualized. Organic robotic bananas, you shouldnt be able to buy one... but you can!

Kraftsmen
Every day Lib Tech bananas are made by hand by Action Hero Snowboard Kraftsmen near Canada in the USA. Building a great Banana is part science, part experience, part art and part magic... These guys put the magic in every banana! They, work on and care about bananas. They are who you would hope would be building your banana. The Lib Tech experiMENTAL division: Every engineer and mad scientists fantasy: exotic materials, a little budget, some dandy dudes, a little time and a lab to work in. This little toy shop of dreams at Mervin Mfg. has kept many awake at night pondering a new variation on a banana ride. This year we bring you Jamie Lynns new C3 Classic Trapezoidal Banana Camber... the best camber board you have ever ridden because its Banana! Winner of over 22 Transworld Good Wood awards, over 25 board test awards from Snowboarder, Snowboard, Future, etc. Winner of King Of The Hill, Baker Banked Slalom, and Olympic Gold! Lib Tech pioneered the all terrain rocker revolution with the award winning Skate Banana and TRS C2 banana snowboarding specific geometries, ending over 20 years of mis-applied tip-to-tail ski cambers and improving snowboard performance for every level of rider from beginner to pro. Snowboarding is now more fun for all. New for 2012, Jamie Lynns new C3 BTX Classic snowboard specific trapezoidal camber dominant, banana designs. BANANA BENEFITS: Rides bigger than it looks Easy to ride Is good for you Carves on ice Floats in powder Your jib board is your pow board BANANA TECH (BTX): Mervins revolutionary original all terrain freestyle banana blend. Rocker between your feet blended with flat-to-mild camber to contact points. Focuses pressure between your feet for easy turns, great edge hold on ice and a mild amount of pressure to the tip and tail for un- real float and catch-free freestyle. Twin All Terrain Freestyle Excels: in all conditions. Epic: fun, jibbing & pow EC2 ELLIPTICAL CAMBER / BANANA BLEND (EC2BTX): Mervins new quiver killing freestyle blend that performs halfway between original Banana Tech and C2. Rocker be- tween your feet blended with elliptical camber to contact points. Focuses pressure between your feet for easy turns, great edge hold on ice and a medium amount of pressure to the tip and tail for end to end stability and pop while maintaining great float and catch-free freestyle. Twin All Terrain Freestyle Excels: in all conditions. Epic: quiver killer C2 POWER BANANA CAMBER / BANANA BLEND (C2BTX):

Travis Rices favorite blend for aggressive power snow- boarders pushing the envelope. Rocker between your feet blended with a radial camber to contact points. Focuses pressure between your feet for easy turns, great edge hold on ice and a solid amount of pressure to the tip and tails for power end-to- end stability, pop and maximum control in critical situations while maintaining float. Twin All Terrain Freestyle Freeride Excels: in all conditions. Epic: big landings & critical lines. CAMBER BANANA (C3BTX): Trapezoidal camber enhanced with Banana Tech for aggressive new traditionalists and weight lifters. Camber made better than it ever was with the addition of banana rocker between your feet. Focuses a mild amount of pressure between your feet for carving, edge grip on ice, float in powder and our maximum amount of pressure out to the tip and tails for super power, end to end stability, pop and control in critical situations. Twin All Terrain Freestyle Freeride Excels in all conditions: Epic: Time traveling to the 80s and 90s ENHANCED BANANA (!BTX!): Mervins magical world. Our highest rocker between the feet blended with a secret numerical formula of camber to the contact points. Focuses our maximum pressure between your feet for magical turns and edge hold on ice and a mild amount of pressure to the tip and tail for end-to-end stability and pop while maintaining incredible float and catch-free freestyle . Twin All Terrain Freestyle Excels: in all conditions. Epic: carving, ice & pow. C1 BANANA CAMBER COMBO BLEND (C1BTX): Matt Cummins directional Mt. Baker freeride set up: banana in front, camber in the rear. Rocker between your feet with flat-to- mild camber from the front foot to nose contact, blended with camber from the back foot to the rear contact area. Artists
In art and snowboarding, we come to know who we are, and we lose ourselves at the same time. Both give a sense of a reality that is altered from common perception. Lib Techs artist program has grown with snowboarding over the past three decades with artists and snowboarders like Jamie Lynn, Mike Perillo, Quincy Quigg, and Nick Russian producing graphics that set the standard for high art in snowboarding; windows into parallel worlds where women are blue and skeletons wear sunglasses. Where gravity has less pull. Lib Tech. Original Art. Handmade snowboards.

Environmental
Mervin has been building snowboards every day for over 26 years. From the very beginning we have always tried to be as environmentally conscious as possible with both our work environment and the materials and processes we use. Nearly Canadian Kraftsmen need healthy work and play environ- ments so they can achieve maximum shred. We use non-petroleum based bio-plastics made from castor beans. Beans are a magical fruit! We DONT use any cancer-causing toxic automotive lacquer clearcoats. Cancer can result in death! You dont have to support companies that use toxic printing systems. We use soy-based elastomer sidewalls instead of toxic abs. We use only low VOC (Volatile Organic Compound) epoxy

resin systems. Our basalt fiber is additive-free & less toxic than conventional fiberglass. We use water-cleansed grinding systems to minimize airborne particulate levels. Pets are encouraged to stay out of the grinding areas. We use only renewable forest products for our cores. Columbian Gold is FSC pure certified. Fast growing trees have long fibers & natural pop. Wood is natures fiberglass! Our wood sawdust is recycled as a soil additive and scrap wood is donated as kindling. We recycle all our scrap plastics (base cutouts, etc.)! Our factory heating runs on renewable based biodiesel! ECO-SUB PRINTING! Mervin uses an environmentally friendly water-based ink sublimation graphics system to print all our snowboard graphics! (As opposed to the majority of the snowboard industry, which uses toxic solvent-based silkscreen inks with thick solventbased gloss curtain coats on top... the process of building boards that way is very toxic for both the environment and people working in the factory, and because of the toxic inks, other companies scrap plastics are not recyclable.) FINGER JOINING! SIZE DOESNT MATTER! Mervin does not waste odd sized wood. Using our finger joiner, Mervin is able to use normally unusable cutoff end wood core pieces. The wood is actually stronger at the joint than regular wood. The result is that almost no wood is wasted and the boards are stronger and have more pop. Lib Tech snowboards
