Play Call Terminology (what you hear is what you do)


Quarterback always meshes with the super back first except on Jet. Quarterback always actions away from last back through the mesh. 4 (Z) 3 (S) 2 (H) Strong, Sucker and Weak tells the H-back which way to go. The H-back always meshes second after the super back. on all Strong calls but never meshes with the quarterback on all Weak calls. 6(X)

Z motion is Jet, Orbit or Bench. Z is only position to move and align per the formation called. Formation shown is Missouri.

Strong, Sucker and Weak tells the super back which way to go and which way the quarterback will open up to. The quarterback always opens to the super back. except on jet motion.

If uncovered slide step play side aiming for the fist DLs funnel with the outside arm ripping through the defender and attempt to take over the block. If covered t-step aiming for the DLs outside shoulder eyes on the near backside backer then release to that backer once the uncovered man takes over. If the DL shows numbers to the uncovered man he takes over right away, if he does not show numbers then the covered man takes over right away. Play off the DLs technique. Outside zone will only be run to zones 1 and 2. Running backs track to the play side tackles feet pre snap spying the outside backer. If blocked continue path, if not cut back inside at the LOS. The centers Bandit call is a dummy call..

Play side guard and center always double team the first man inside the POA. Play side tackle always tracks to the near backer inside the POA never allowing the DL an inside track. Y tracks to near backer. Back side guard always tracks to the nearest backer while protecting his inside gap first. Bask side tackle always blocks near DL to his inside. Z runs the trap block. QB must get depth. Traps will only be run to the 0 zone and run out of Utah or Kansas formation. Quick call is wedge blocking for QB sneak. Bandit call is straight up, Rock call tells the line the trap is fat and everyones rules move one gap play side.

The ILB is more important than the OLB because of the cutback. The KANSAS call is real and the UTAH call is fake. Only the guards can call for help when we zone.
