Introduction:
3

It is a fully automatic machine entirely controlled with

microcontroller and PLC.

This operation is just like todays world vendor machine. The output of the process is very hygienic. Process starts with mashed potato filling inside the pani puri and

ending with water filling into it.

Technologies used :
4

Conveyer belt control

(a.) A conveyor belt consists of two or more pulleys with a continuous loop of material ( the conveyor belt) that rotates about them. (b.) One or both of the pulleys are powered, moving the belt and the material on the belt forward.
R.F. control

For reading the customers token to start the machine.

P.L.C. control

(a.) An hard real time system. (b.) A digital computer used for automation of electromechanical processes.
.

Continued .
5

SCADA control

(a.) This generally refers to control system.

(b.) A computer system that controls and monitors the entire functioning.
AutoCAD

This computer software is used for designing the base of the machine.
Microcontroller- for the display purpose of what customer has

ordered.
Database- for keeping the record of the total sell by the machine and

the total amount of the sell.

Description of the model machine:

6

Here the pani puri machine is broadly divided into 5 major sub parts:

1. The pani puri inlet point. 2. The holing mechanism use to puncture the pani puri.

3. The check point for the pani puri if it is damaged whilind

puncturing it. 4. The automatic potato filing in the pani puri in fixed quantity.

5. Last part is water filling in it according to the customer's

taste/demand.

WORKING:8

Customer has to purchase the token according to his wish from the counter there.

Now, he/she has to insert that token in the machine at his/her respective counter to take the product.

As the token is inserted in the machine the m/c came to know where the customer is and the quantity that he/she wants of pani puri.

After it the m/c starts and the pani patasha comes on the moving conveyer one by one and passes to the further level.

Now, a hole mechanism is there to create hole in the pani patasha through a geared mechanism for filling in the material in it.

Further it goes to the potato mixture filling through a pneumatic pressure cylinder.

Now it passes to the individual customers belt and with a time delay it is passed to the customer by filling it with the most important and tasty thing of pani puri i.e. its spicy water.

Here the beauty of the machine is the that the customer has the option to select the taste of the water to be filled in the pani puri for each of the piece that he receives at the time of inserting the token.

PLC Used:9

Input extension card (1762 IF8)

Allen Bradely Micrologix1100 (1763 L16BBB)

Output extension card (1762 OW8)

Components required :
10

PLC : 1 PLC Micrologix 1100( Allen Bradley) Sensors : 8 sensors( capacitive/ proximity) Switches : 3 limit switches (sensors type)

Motors : 6 motors for the conveyer system.

Heavy torque motors : 3 such motors for the lid control,

holing and for filling the mash potato.

Food grade material for conveyer.

11

Water tanks for storage. Valves : 10 valves for the water control. Solenoid valves : 2 solenoid valves for the air pressure control. Air compressor : 1 such item SMPS: one in number Extra extended cards for more input output with Micrologix 1100.

Pneumatic cylinder /vibrators for the mashed potato filling

machine.

Drawbacks :
12

Detection in the case of breakage of pani puri.

Water spreading over the entire belt due to water

filling. Initial cost of the system is high.

Advantages :
13

Simple and fast mechanism

User friendly control

Hygienic process Manpower less required.

Futures Modifications:
14

This R.F. token can be replaced by directly inserting the cash

into the machine like the vendor machine.

Manufacturing of the pani puri can also be made automatic. Touch screen HMIs can be provided at the customers panel.
