History of Mouse

On December 9, 1968, Douglas C. Engelbart and his team members are invented the first computer mouse who was then working at the Stanford Research Institute in Menlo Park, California. and the group of 17 researchers invented the first mouse. Types of Mouse

Mechanical mice

Mechanical Mouse
A mechanical mouse is a computer mouse that contains a metal or rubber ball on its under side. When the ball is rolled in any direction, sensors inside the mouse detect this motion and move the onscreen mouse pointer in the same direction. In the picture to the right, is an example of the bottom of a mechanical mouse with the ball removed. Today, this mouse has been replaced by the optical mouse.

Optical and laser mice

Optical and laser Mouse

Optical mice make use of one or more light-emitting diodes (LEDs) and an imaging array of photodiodes to detect movement relative to the underlying surface, rather than internal moving parts as does a mechanical mouse. A laser mouse is an optical mouse that uses coherent (laser) light.

USB Mouse

USB Mouse
The industry-standard USB (Universal Serial Bus) protocol and its connector have become widely used for mice. it's currently among the most popular types.

Wireless Mouse

Wireless Mouse

Wireless mice transmit data via infrared radiation or radio (including Bluetooth). The receiver is connected to the computer through a serial or USB port, or can be built in (as is sometimes the case with Bluetooth). Modern non-Bluetooth wireless mice use USB receivers. Advantages of Mouse.
It allows you to make selections and move items on the computer's screen. The two or three buttons make it easy to use. It is small and convenient and fits in your hand. It makes the user free from using the keyboard for many commands.

Disadvantages of Mouse
An external mouse requires space. A mechanical mouse needs to be cleaned regularly or it will get clogged with lint and dust. The cord on most mice can get hung up and drag, making the mouse difficult to use.
