The importance of Circle Time or Morning Meeting


We use our group times to sing songs, read and respond to books and to develop other speaking and listening skills. Mathematical skills such as - daily data handling, sequencing, patterning all occur here also. Many class social bonds are made at this time.

NIST Elementary Counsellors


We provide a comprehensive counseling and guidance program that removes barriers to learning by attending to the personal, social, emotional and developmental needs of all students to ensure that we have happy, healthy, and successful students at NIST. Services are provided through: classroom guidance lessons individual/small group counseling parent and teacher consultations

Some reminders
The Central Area is not available for playing in before and after school. Children may play on the playground with supervision from parents or nannies but please do not use movable equipment such as bikes, blocks and water toys. The bookroom is

also available but no food or drink is to be taken in and an adult must be supervising. Only bus children are permitted to come in to drop off their bags in the mornings. Others should wait until the shaker has gone and then encourage your child to be as independent as possible in managing their belongings. Spare uniforms are provided in case of accidents at school. They are labeled EY Spare and need to be washed and returned to school Class parents - Each EY class needs a NIPTA class parent. Please speak to your homeroom teacher if you are interested in this role.
