Throughout her career, Beatriz Armendariz has worked with many leading educational institutions. From 2000 to 2002, she served as Research Fellow at the Center for International Development (CID), Harvard University. The CID is a nonprofit academic research center that focuses on generating shared and sustainable prosperity in developing nations. As Harvards main center for research on international development, CID actively creates, integrates and applies knowledge from the university and beyond to promote understanding of development solutions and challenges.

Beatriz Armendariz is a senior lecturer in Economics at University College London and holds Ph.D. in Economics from EHESS, Paris, France. Currently, she has been appointed as summer school professor at University of the Andes (Columbia) - a co-educational private university located in city center, Bogota, Columbia. It was founded in 1948 and has 9 faculties, including Administration, Architecture and Design, Arts and Humanities, Sciences, Law, Social Sciences, Economics, and Engineering and Medicine. In addition, the University offers an international summer school program that gives students an opportunity to expand their international perspective by attending special courses in specialized areas. Dedicated to providing high quality education, the University is ranked as top tier university in Latin America.
Moreover, Beatriz Armendariz also works as Research Fellow at the Center for European Research in Microfinance. CERMi focuses on promoting academic research to support key stakeholders in microfinance industry, including NGOs, donors, cooperatives and financial institutions. It also aims at developing suitable frameworks to examine existing microfinance practices.
