Chapter 2 REVIEW OF LITERATURE

Include a combination of literature and studies within the last 10 years except theories Organize thematically to conform to the variables of the specific problems Follow proper documentation using parenthetical citation with author and date and include the date of retrieval after the URL for electronic references Only articles with dates are allowed as ereferences

Secondary sources should be limited to at most 15 Highlight major findings and how ones research would fit in the body of knowledge on the subject matter and make a critique per topic as to whether the results cohere or differ from each other The last part should be a clinching paragraph to show how the literature has assisted the researcher in the present study

Chapter 3 METHODOLOGY
Research Design
Specify, describe and justify the appropriate research design congruent with the purpose of the study Method of research used whether historical, descriptive or experimental should be explained briefly Procedural part of the method, its appropriateness to the study, and some of its advantages should be given attention and should be well discussed

Population and Locale of the Study

Describe the population of the respondents or participants to the study. If there are two or more groups, present in a tabular form Describe the basis of the sample specifically what formula, specific sampling procedure (e.g. Slovins Formula) and what probability level. Lynch formula for sampling is suggested. Describe the place/location where the study is conducted and the rationale of the choice

Instrumentation and Data Collection

Identify and describe the instrument/research approach (questionnaire, interview, documentary analysis, etc.) to be used for each descriptive problem, cite sources, to whom it will be administered, how it will be administered and how to interpret Validity: identify and describe the process of measuring / proving the validity of the instrument Reliability: identify and describe the process of measuring and proving the reliability of the instrument. If the instrument is made by the researcher, a pilot test should be done with respondents whose characteristics parallel to those of the main respondents. If the instrument was adopted, acknowledge the source and present the level of reliability Only data collected 2 years immediately before the final defense are considered valid State qualifications of informants used in the study

Data Analysis
Identify and justify the statistical treatment per problem/objective Present and justify the scales of values used and the descriptive equivalent ratings, if any

Chapter 4 RESULTS AND DISCUSSIONS

Order of discussion is based on the chronology of the statement of the problem Descriptive presentation of the table/graph (general to particular, macro to micro, highest to lowest). State statistical descriptions in declarative sentences in studies involving comparison. State the obtained statistical results and indicate the level of significance of the results. Tip: Read the table first then interpret the result

Interpretation includes:
Trends, patterns, linkages, integration, generalization of data in the context of the study Check for indicators whether the hypothesis is supported by the findings Interconnections between and among data Link present findings with previous literature/theories/concepts presented in the framework Parallel observation with contemporary events to give credence to what were presented in the situation analysis Implications of the findings to prevailing conditions in ones own field of specialization, on-going programs, current thrusts of the government, existing national policies and current public attitudes and opinions

Chapter 5
SUMMARY, CONCLUSIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS

Summary
Includes the statement of the problem in a paragraph form, synthesized methodology and salient findings for each of the specific problems presented in paragraph form

Conclusions
Generalized statements from a micro to macro-level based on the answers to the general problem and each of the specific problems General inferences are presented which are applicable to a wider and similar population

Recommendations
Based on the findings and conclusions Feasible, workable, flexible and adaptable in a non-technical language and may include suggestions for further studies
