INDIVIDUAL PROJECT

.Individual Project is a compulsory Module to obtain your HND.

The purpose of this Module is to develop your abilities to record activities ,to collect ,analyze and apply data ,find and use sources of information and to develop solutions. The aim of this Module will be to apply your knowledge and understanding developed in other Modules of the course within a major piece of work that reflects the type of performance and level of ability expected of professional project personnel. It is intended that you will work individually on a project that meets the demands of the course within which you are working.

PROJECT WORK
Your Project Work should be investigative or research oriented.
The Topic for the Project can be decide by yourself and it should be relevant to your particular study area.(eg.QS,Engineering etc.)

Before you commence your project work please get the approval for the topic from your Project Supervisor.

ASSESSING YOUR PROJECT WORK

Your Project Work will be assessed on the basis of following criteria. 1.Suatability of the Topic 2.Extent of Project Work done 3.Quality of your presentation. 4.Quality of your Final Project Report

PROCEDURES TO BE FOLLOWED
1.Select an appropriate Topic and get the approval from your Project Supervisor. 2.Prepare Your Synopsis and get the approval. 3.Make a presentation of your Project Work prior to prepare your Project Report. 4.Prepare the Final Project and submit

SYNOPSIS
A Synopsis is a brief of the major points or condensation of your Individual Project. It can limit to THREE A-4 size papers. Synopsis should be prepared under following headings. 1.Introduction 2.Problem Identification. 3.Objective of Studies 4.Scope of Study 5.Data Collection 6.Research Tools Applied. 7.Organization of Studies 8.Reference & Bibliography.

1.INTRODUCTION
This covers the detail of the topic you have selected ,why you have selected and some literature about the same.Eg:
Topic: Study of opportunities available for HND (QS) Graduates

2.PROBLEM IDENTIFICATION
Core area of the problem and other related problems and their brief solutions.eg. Problem Identification: In SL there are plenty of students aspire to have their University Education but due to Z score system only few students will get the opportunity to getting to the state Universities. The aim of this research is to explore the alternative opportunities available for such young people.

3.OBJECTIVE OF STUDY
Objectives of the study should be study shall be mention point wise. Eg.
It has been identified that HND Programs are providing an alternate route for such young people to 1.Obtain Jobs locally and overseas. 2.Gain Professional Qualifications. 3.Gain Academic Qualifications.

4.SCOPE OF STUDY
This can limit to the area of study., time period and target group for their studied
This study is limited for the those who have succeefully completed HND in QS

5.DATA COLLECTION
Data sources must be defined properly.Eg.
From the students who have already employed. From the Employers. Students who are studying for Professional Qualifications. Students who are studying for Academic Qualifications.

6.RESERCH TOOLS APPLIED

Students shall mention the tools and techniques applied to the study including tools and techniques.Eg Software used Use of Questioners

7.ORGANIZATION OF STUDY
The Chapter wise categorization of study can be given under this topic.Eg. Chapter One: Introduction Chapter Two:Job Opportunities Chapter Three: Professional Qualifications Chapter Four: Academic Qualifications Chapter Five: Conclusion

8.Refrences and Bibliography

This should include the books, internet sources and any other literature you use to prepare you are using to prepare your Project.
