The Sunday Star online survey Let's Talk Sex with YouthSays and Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (Utar) questioned 2,795 young people aged 15 to 25 throughout the country. About 46.5% said that they would only have sex when they were married and 26.2 percent said they would only do it when they felt ready. Another 6.7 percent said they would only have sex when they were at least 18 years old.

A study done by Universiti Putra Malaysia revealed that more than 300 Malay teens aged between 13 and 25 admitted to having had sex, with 85% stating that they did not regret their actions and found sex very enjoyable.

Basically, this is a study conducted on 4,500 students aged 12 to 19, in Negeri Sembilan, published in MEDLINE. The results are highly interesting:

 * 8.3% of Males students aged 12-19 have had sex before. * 2.9% of Female students aged 12-19 have had sex before. * The average age of these group first having sex is ... 15! As much as the society tries to pretend that this doesn't

exist, the truth is they do, and an open and honest admission that these practices exist is the FIRST step that the society can take to tackling these issues.

19. Of course, teenagers can get married late, and there are some who don't get married until they are in their 40s.

The American study showed that 95% of Americans engage in pre-marital sex. The China study shows that pre-marital sex is on the rise, and as early as 1990-2000, the ratio is already around 60%-70% of Chinese, and in some region, as high as over 90%. The figure today for China is rapidly approaching Americans. The Malaysian Durex study showed that nearly half of our teens are already engaging in pre-marital sex. There is no doubt that the true pre-marital sex in Malaysia (including adults in the 20s, 30s, 40s) are higher than 60%-70%, and maybe 80% would be one guess.

reveal that by April of 2010, a total of 111 young girls have sought help for their pregnancies. In 2009, there were 131 cases received while in 2008, there were 107 teenage girls who got pregnant.

It has been reported that statistics from the Registration Department showed that there were 257,411 NEW-BORNS REGISTERED WITHOUT FATHERS, between 2000 and 2008. This translates to an average of 78 BABIES BORN OUT OF WEDLOCK DAILY during the last nine years.

Baby dumping refers to discarding or leaving alone, for an extended period of time, a child younger than 12 months of age in a public or private setting with the intent to dispose of the child.

Based on Bukit Aman Police Headquarters statistics found a total of 580 babies were found dumped between years 2000 to 2006. This number of cases increase every year where as much as 65 baby dumping cases has increased to 83 cases in the year 2006.

 From 2005 to January last year, a

total of 517 baby dumping cases were registered in the country, said Federal CID director Datuk Seri Mohd Bakri Zinin. 203 of the cases involved boys, 164 girls while the gender of the other 150 babies could not be ascertained.

For cases in which the gender

cannot be identified, postmortems could not be carried out because the bodies were too badly decomposed. Of the total, 230 were found alive while 287 were dead.

Baby dumping phenomenon is a direct result of our societys failure to acknowledge and address our blinkered viewpoints of sex, and allow our personal religious convictions dictate public health and education policies over proven pragmatic approaches.

If this has not happened to us, but happened to someone that we know or not, dont judge them like were god. Sometimes, because of our shallow thought, they become scared to face the reality. And then, they started to dump the baby just like that. It is our responsibility to help them faced their problem, advise them and lead them back to the reality.

For example, the word bastard and illegitimate baby, there is no such word in Islam. But the word is always use in our society itself to described the baby and the mom will be labelled as an adultery or prostitute. And at the end, the abandoned of the baby occurred as a result of our labelling. This kind of word should not be used to describe them. We could make a difference by change and make a change.

So, girls, if you love someone, dont make you lose your pride to him. Dont believe a man until you become his. Dont make it happen, because once it happens, there is no way back to your old life. And if it happens, and you get a baby out of wedlock, dont be ashamed of it. Dont be like the others that dumped their baby with no sympathy. There are many ways for you to solve that problem.

For boys, if you love someone, love her with your full of heart not with full of lust. You are created for us to be our leader and lead us to the good way. Dont take advantage towards us and leave us after you get what you want. And if it happened, dont be a coward. You must take the responsibilities. When you know how to do, you must know how to take the responsibilities.
