INTRODUCTION

Kingfisher Airlines Limited is an airline group based in India. Its head office is in Andheri (East), Mumbai and Registered Office in UB City, Bangalore. Kingfisher Airlines, through its parent company United Breweries Group, has a 50% stake in low-cost carrier Kingfisher Red. The airline has been facing financial issues for many years.[5] Until December 2011, Kingfisher Airlines had the second largest share in India's domestic air travel market. However due to a severe financial crisis faced by the airline at the beginning of 2012, it has the lowest market share since April 2012.[6]

HISTORY
Kingfisher Airlines was established in 2003. It is owned by the Bengaluru based United Breweries Group. The airline started commercial operations in 9 May 2005 with a fleet of four new Airbus A320-200s operating a flight from Mumbai to Delhi.[7] It started its international operations on 3 September 2008 by connecting Bengaluru with London

STRENGTH
Strong brand value and reputation in the mind of the consumer and Indian flies United Breweries group as the parent company. First Indian Airlines to have a new fleet of planes. Quality services and innovation. More than 80 destination. Less than 100 people( employees) per aircraft. Strong backing from promoters

WEAKNESS
Financial issues due to heavy debt Laying off employees caused a bad image. High ticket pricing Tough competition from Indian and International players Still not a profit organization Deviated from its target Inefficient services declined the airline

OPPURTUNITIES
Reputataion of providing the best amenities in Indian skies. Financial stability can improve operation. More domestic and International detination. Expanding tourism business. Non penetrated domestic market. Untapped air cargo market

THREAT
Pressure from aviation committees and government policies. Falling demand . Over capacity in the sky. Economic slow down. Infrastructure issues. Fuel price hike. Promotions and sponsorship Decline. Airlines funded by the government becomes a threat for this airline.

RECCOMENDATION
I still have hope from Mr Mallya that he will refrain from over indulgence and concentrate on his fragile business. Its time he and his son become responsible and start this company from scratch instead of late night parties and IPL and took inspiration from Indigo airlines who proudly claimed themselves as Low cost airline and exceeding the customers delight in every way they can.
