E-Street Lighting

Project Overview
The intelligent street lighting project was carried out by 13 partners of 12 European countries during the period of January 2006 to July 2008. The phrase Intelligent street lighting includes a total system with dimmable luminaires, advanced lighting control solutions, communication systems and administrative tools.

In most cases Intelligent street lighting in its practical design is


identical to Adaptive lighting.

Streets or roads equipped with such a solution will dynamically adapt the street lighting performance according to the actual needs for the given period/time of the road. The project have identified an annual saving potential of 63.7% of annual consumption. IEE provided 250 million which was the 50% of the total cost.
