Introduction
.
World would not have been as beautiful, charming and cherishing as it is today, without flowers.
Occurrence of many diseases on gladiolus e.g. Leaf blight, Neck rot, aster yellow, wilt and corm rot, among these corm rot cause by Botrytis cineria, Botrytis gladiolorum, Curvularia lunata, Penicillium gladioli, Fusarium oxysporum f.sp. gladioli and Sreptomisum botriosum.
Disease has become very severe now-a-days while going through literature not much more work carried out on fungal diseases, there for need for knowing diseases cause by fungi.
This will enable us to know the fungal pathogen infecting the gladiolus.
It also helps us to develop integrated management practices by using bio control agents
and fungicides
Objectives
Methodology
3. Seasonal incidence of major fungal diseases of gladiolus will be recorded weekly and correlate it with weather parameter.
4. Efficacy of fungicides and bioagents will be tested against fungal pathogens by poison food technique and dual culture method.
Treatment details
Treatment T1 Fungicide Carbandazine Concentration % 0.2
T2
T3 T4
Chlorotharonil
Benomyl Mancozeb
0.1
0.2 0.1
Bioagents
T5 T6 Trichoderma viride Trichoderma harzianum
T7
T8 T9
Pseudomonas fluorescens
Bacillus subtillis Control
Observation to be recorded
1. Seasonal incidence per cent disease incidence / intensity of major diseases will be recorded in weekly interval.
2. Inhibition of pathogen by fungicides and bioagent will be measured on the basis of mycelial radial diameter. 3. Percent growth inhibition due to antagonist.
