Childhood care and Education


The curriculum is built on a long history of early childhood education services.
It established over the past century in New Zealand to meet particular needs of children, parents and communities. Education covers the years from birth to school entry age.

By the time they enter school most children have had the benefit of an early childhood education program in addition to care and education provided in their home.

Child care and education covers the years from birth to school age Attendance levels within early childhood education services continue to increase for all ages Children have the benefit of early childhood education programme by the time they entered school

The role of early childhood services


The first Early Childhood Education service had primary aim if providing for disadvantaged children. Soon they seen the advantages of the early childhood education were soon seen to have benefits for all children and were increasingly recognized as providing support to families as well as education for their children. Families and early childhood education services are now jointly involved in the community.

Early childhood programs are committed to ensure that learning opportunities are not restricted by gender, neighborhood, place or district. It express a common view of what makes the curriculum for early childhood years different from other curriculums such as in schools. The curriculum seeks to celebrate diversity as well as to define common principles, strands, and goals for childrens learning and development within. The environment, routines, people, and happening within and around the home provide opportunities for the spontaneous learning which should be feature of all early childhood learning contexts.

Purpose and Structure


The curriculum or program structure is based on the strands, goals and rules according to the child`s interests. The official languages of Newzealand are English and Maori Approved by the Ministry of Education and is used for academic purpose.

All across the Canada and many other countries of the world, a course have been introduced for the development and learning of a child, which is known as Early Childhood Education. The structure of this program can also be defined as curriculum. The word CURRICULUM is use to explain the total amount of all the actions, experiences and activities that has happened directly or indirectly in the environment

It is a document which guides an early childhood educator to create a healthy and learning environment for the development of the children. Empowerment, it allows a child to grow and learn. Holistic development, it helps the child to communicate with others confidently and emotionally. Relationships, it is a bond through which a child will respond or react towards the people, place and surroundings.

Family and community, it is essential for family and community members to create a healthy environment They play an important role in the development of a child`s upbringing A well educated and prosperous family will be able to raise a child with strong and well groomed personality.

Children with special needs are not left out in fact there are program available according to their age and other requirements it includes all the activities so they can participate actively This program is acknowledged as An Individual Development Plan or Individual Education Plan (IDP or IEP). the vital and basic explanation while making a curriculum anywhere in the world, the important aspect that we should all keep in mind is that children`s our first priority.

Program Method
Staff interacts with everyone within the center in a positive warm manner Staff are always aware of each childs developmental level/stage and provide ways to enhance learning development Children are allowed to have an opinion/choice Family involvement is encouraged We believe that in order for children to develop holistically Educators must gain knowledge of the children within their care. We believe that all children must be treated as individuals and respected for their uniqueness.

Embrace an assortment of cultures within child care center, promoting diversity All staff is respectful towards every family and their diverse background and beliefs, and provide assistance when needed Staff provide nutritious food throughout the day, which meet the individual needs of each child

We believe that the inclusion of family and the community are an integral part of the positive development of a child.

Community excursions is implemented when possible, and the community is allowed to visit the center when deemed appropriate Staff remain aware of community resources which could ultimately benefit the children, the child care center, and the families
Staff are committed to role modelling and supporting positive relationships. Reciprocal relationships are paramount in the positive development of relationships between staff, parents and children.

Staff establish an environment which allows the child to contribute to what is going on creating a sense of belonging Team work amongst staff is demonstrated within the center Staff maintain daily conversations with families, children, and with fellow staff members Center provides news letters and information boards for family and community to see

Children and families matter to us, that's why we aim to make our child care centres a home away from home, where children learn life skills in a caring and nurturing environment.

Subsidy
People can New Zealand can receive subsidy if they are the main carer for their child Having to be a New Zealand citizen or permanent resident The income of subsidy is based on how much and your partner make in working The child has to be under 5years of age
