The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) designated Mount Robson as a World Heritage Site, Part of Rocky Mountain World Heritage Site, 1990.

GOVERNMENT POLICY & REGULATIONS :

Park act restricts Commercial activity. Park use permit act regulates industrial activity. Guidelines on impact rehabilitation. Implementation of safety and environment plan. Restriction on the no. of flights landing per year.

MOUNT ROBSON PROVINCIAL PARK REGULATIONS :

Visitors are requested to leave the flora of the park undamaged. Good wilderness ethics for backcountry users. Supervision of children. Rules for pets. Bicycle riding guidelines.

CHALLENGES

Lack of education to the tourist regarding maintenance of the park. Protecting the Natural Environment & its Trail. Cutting of trees to suffice the need for Wood in campfire. Balancing outdoor recreation activities. Privatization & Increase in maintenance cost of park leading to decrease in tourist number hence adversely affecting employment for locals. Maintaining Cleanliness in the Park.

MEASURES TAKEN TO SUSTAIN :

The park use permit act. Restricting the no. flights. Optimum use of signboards. Supervised school group visit. Construction of resort leads to employment. Availability of recreational opportunities for an extra price.
